Hold it! Its called "stimulus", and thats what this economy is doing,,, its going to ever so slowly rise as it is stimulated, and now it is going in and then will slide out of the dumper slump we are in. This is the Obama plan... just give it time to work. When it finally reaches full head and comes to the pinnacle, jobs will be blowing out all over the place. Then you will be feeling satisfied and warm inside. And if in the end it does not work, just scream "rape"!
Aren't these the same things Bush said about the wars? Just give them time and all? How'd that work out for George?

On your immigration plan, I agree 100%. We need to enforce the laws on the books. We need to reward those who turn in illegals and we need to be hiring only American and legally documented workers. By evicting the some 20 million illegals, we instantly reduce healthcare costs, free loaders on the system, and yes, CRIME. More importantly, we have workers in the system that are part of the system who will help pay into the system.

On the government opening up manufacturers and picking up pay. This is a bad idea. The way to improve our manufacturing and durable goods is to disovle the unions and their idiotic set wages/legalized extortion. To help spur growth, the government should only need to give incentives so private dollars want to be in the business. No dumb-arse carbon taxes, etc. that strangle business. The biggest problem with your plan is the corruption that would follow. Lobbyists would be raking in the profits while government covered their liabilities. Always a bad mix (i.e. AIG, Fanny, Freddy, GM, etc.)

We need to IMMEDIATELY rework unemployment benefits. These need to be locked down to a bridge until new employment, not like the "collect the check" it is now. The best way to do this is to cover necessities, not give cash. This could come in the form of something like a WIC card today that allows purchase of essentials such as bread, butter, milk, and with some cash for bills, etc. This would take careful thought because gov't fraud could be everywhere. My point is, too many people are collecting with zero motivation to get out of this program (not all, but alot).

Not sure about your tax plan. The right answer is a flat tax. Remove deductions and all the overhead of the silly system we have. Every paycheck would have 15-20% taken out regardless of how much you make (above $25,000). Revenues would sky rocket. Their is a common mistake made when people think raising taxes raise revenues. It is not the case and their is plenty of historical evidence to prove this. If you add to that, an automated system of collection you also prevent people from not paying.

Beyond that, the only thing I could support is a flat usage tax.

First and foremost we need to stop the stimulus immediately. We have only wasted 7% of it so far and we should cut our losses and think.

Iraq is a free nation and soon to be fully in charge of their own security. So, smart arse, I think pretty well.

I think there are women and children in Afghanistan that might take exception to your comment too.

Thanks James...same to you...I enjoy reading your posts, you fight the good fight..but from an observer's point of view, the more sense that you make, the more whacked out they get. I feel they are truly brainwashed, especially when they attack Fox News. Their brains just can't handle an opposing point of view, and all logic seems to be gone forever. And the person who posted something about evangelical conservative men's role model...HELLO???!?!?!?! If they knew the first thing about being an evangelical...what else can I say?

the irony of Iraq is that our media would not allow the Bush administration to use oil money from Iraq to pay for the war.. Obama's administration would have been able to do that.
The media in this nation are the enemy of the people.

you know the one big thing that I would like to blame on Bush - it seems that the citizens of Iran would now like to have free and democratic elections also. Where did they get these ideas from? The people are showing up in the streets in large numbers, to protest their corrupt leadership, being killed for their chance to have their voices heard, asking for the US to help them, all the while Obummer takes his family on a European vacation and Mrs. Obummer is showing off her $6,000 purse.

It's working, it's not working, it's working, it's not working...make up your freakin' mind!!! BTW, I'd say IT'S NOT WORKING...where's the 600,000 jobs? Don't talk about extending welfare as being a success. That doesn't provide jobs to those who don't have, nor does it provide tax relief to those who do!!!! how dumb does this guy think we are??? oh yeah, he got elected, that's right... http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news...

This country is headed for a depression and every state is broke, but these states keep giving FREE education and FREE healthcare to illegal SOB's. Then people scratch theri heads and say. Can I ask a simple question? When has the government ever created a job that the citizenry hasn't bankrolled? I mean, let's face it... any job the government actually creates was generated by taxpayer manipulation. Might I suggest the private sector actually create the jobs? Or is that too difficult a concept?

Yeah, I know... I know... the Messiah-in-Chief is the second coming of Christ. Just shut up and take it.

Why not say a number like 3,000,000? Seriously, if he's going to just make up unachievable numbers he may as well go for a number into the millions.

I'm confused about how you make a sign with a shovel? LOL

Why didn't he go for the whole enchilada, why didn't he just say "I'm going to SAVE THE WORLD!" after all, that's what he and his bots believe.

Unless you are an illegal alien.

All the while pulling the plug on Grandma!
Say goodbye to Grandma. Someone that payed into the system....

Obama's health care proposal is, in effect, the repeal of the Medicare program as we know it. The elderly will go from being the group with the most access to free medical care to the one with the least access. Indeed, the principal impact of the Obama health care program will be to reduce sharply the medical services the elderly can use. No longer will their every medical need be met, their every medication prescribed, their every need to improve their quality of life answered.

It is so ironic that the elderly - who were so vigilant when Bush proposed to change Social Security - are so relaxed about the Obama health care proposals. Bush's Social Security plan, which did not cut their benefits at all, aroused the strongest opposition among the elderly. But Obama's plan, which will totally gut Medicare and replace it with government-managed care and rationing, has elicited little more than a yawn from most senior citizens.

t's time for the elderly to wake up before it is too late!

I agree with what you say. However, I have no sympathy for any moron that voted for "hope and change". Time to pay for stupidity and begin culling the herd.

Liberals LOVE to criticize anything Bush did.....the media is in Obozo's hip pocket, and we know liberals love anything but facts. FACT: This whole Stimulus package/spending is a house of cards, and will come tumbling down...Obozo will be one and done, hyperinflation kicks in in 2010, and above all else, LIBERALISM IS A MENTAL DISORDER. Thank YOu white, independent voters for putting in this non-citizen.....THE biggest sham ever pulled over on the American people.
