WOW, the Panthers got two more DMEN! I wonder if they can put the puck in the net? Another clinker by the genius, Martin- Boyton and Ballard. Congrats, Panthers you now have the most DMEN on your roster than any team in the league. Reading between the lines-does this mean they are having trouble in signing JAY Bouw?

Are you serious? 2 defenseman and a draft pick that will spend 5 years in the minors? This franchise is freakin cursed. I guess we like scoring 1 goal every game.

You've got to be kidding. That's the best Jacques could do?
Two D and a 2nd round pick? Cumulatively they had nine goals and were -2 last year.

There has to be more to this. PLEASE tell me there's more to this.

Defenseman for a top 10 NHL scorer. Only Jacque Martin couldve pulled off this deal.

Jacqes Martin is evil. Evil I tell you. He is too stuborn to admit his own short comings. Mike Keenan should never have been ALLOWED to trade Luongo and now Martin trades Jokinen. This team is surely aiming to win the first overall pick next year. As a long time hockey fan I'm shocked at the incompetency of this owner. Now this team has only a young David Booth as a serious threat. Horton. Weiss. Zednick. So far nobody around the league is worried about who they'll put out to cover our number one line. Boumeistter. You had better be ready or your next to be sent packing.

maybe it will be another 7 years until we make the playoffs. i think we'll be lucky if we score 1 goal a game.

What sucks for Olli is that Phoenix is even worse than the Panthers. He won't make the playoffs there either

Wait... are they serious? No, really.. I mean that. Like, they are just playing around right? They are also including a first rounder and a truckload of burritos right?

Good luck selling... uh, I mean, giving away tickets now. Just what a struggling non-hockey market needs. Boring-assed "defensive" hockey.

If I lived in Windmill Ranches in Weston, I'd be knocking on Mr Cohen's door asking him why. If I lived on the beach In Ft Liqordale at Le Hermitage II, I'd kick-in Jacques door and b*tch-slap the h3ll outta him.

Wow. Nick Boynton 12 pts last year. Nick Bollard, who is a monster 5'11", scored 21 pts. And a 2nd round pick that probably will never even make it to the big leagues. The ONLY way this makes any sense is if they wanted to dump the salary to make a serious run for Malkin or Hossa. Otherwise I dont see how this trade possibly HELPS the team. This is seriously the best deal we could find??!?!?!?!?

Can you say "Taken to the cleaners?" or how about this one, "Bendover and touch your toes". Jacques you suck.

It's going to more fun going to Ice Zone to watch the kids play...at least I'll be saving gas money...and beer money...and popcorn money....and ticket money.....and seeing hockey better than at the big joint...

They better not go after Malkin - the russian leagues are offering him $12.5 mill tax-free to come back. If it were me, I'd do it (twice).

Remember the Jokinen / Tanguay rumor? Tanguay was had for the 25th pick. I think Montador and some others are gone if Jacques is stocking up on D like this. These new Panthers were (I guess) decent D on a bad team last year, so that's is something. Still, This is a horrible trade and ranks right up there in the most epic boneheaded moves in team history.

Maybe they are dumping salary for a FA run, but who is going to want to come here?

What ever happened to getting calamari and the second pick or the sedin twins? 30 points a year for 80 is a great upgrade for the cats. i bet martin feels pretty happy right now. In ten minutes he'll be announced dead. he just wanted to get rid of jokinen. i feel stupid to have their season tickets now.

Unbelievable. I'm speechless. I knew it was gonna be bad, but not THIS bad. We are SCREWED guys. My condolences to all the season ticket holders.

I can tell you that these two d-men are probably replacements for Bouwmeester so the bloodletting has not ended yet.

Phoenix will definitely make playoffs next season. They are loaded with top draft picks and they almost made it last season in a very tough division and conference.
