Oh well. Thanks for the memories, good and bad.

It's a business on both sides, and glass-groin doesn't want to be here. I think it says a lot about his thoughts on MN in general that he didn't want to talk about a contract with the new free-wheeling regime.

The Wild DID make him an offer, which he turned down last fall. He obviously did not give the new general manager any indication that he would accept something similar now, so it's better to move on rather than give him ANOTHER offer that he would only use as leverage with other teams.

So Long Mary Ann... I find it hard to believe that with his injuries that he will get 8 plus million a year from any team. Time will tell.

Good riddance...

Bad economy, injury-prone player and a shrinking salary cap. All those things couldn't have come together for a more deserving individual.

Ya know exactly what is going to happen - his surgery's will have fixed his problems. He will avoid injury and have a 95 point season for Vancouver. Let the bitching and whining begin on how we never should have let him go.

thats because minnesoat is a liberal city, no one can think they are better than anyone else, so if you cant think your better then your not going to be better. if you attempt to show your real abilities the minnesota liberal fans think your not a team player. minnesota is an indoor soccor , lacrrosse, womans basketball 2nd rate baseball saints state. because those sports dont have stars that get attention. and they all play together and give the same effort .

reason im about to find another state to root for ,the stupid local media puts words in players mouths and then the fans think the stars themselves think that way and then the fans turn on the stars chasing them away. when it was the medias opinion and not fact the whole time. we dont like stars and dont know how to deal with them. wich is odd for minnesota a big union state where are all iunion workers are overpaid underachieving greedy me me me me me me only dont care about the tax payers that are being held hostage by greedy demands. minnesota loathes rich people .

the salary cap did not shrink and you can work out contracts so they are cap friendly over time. the wild already have a roster full of players your going to get being cheap.

When we get shut out 20+ times this year you will be screaming for Gaborik. Who gives a crap about injuries he still could lead this team in scoring playing 40 games. This is going to come back to haunt us. I can tell right now that Fletcher is going to be a lasy azz just like Billy Smith of the Twins. Let me ask him straight up, this center you got from Edmonton, why?????? Maybe you didn't realize when you got the GM position that this was Minnesota, not Florida, not Nashville, WE ARE HOCKEY! Don't try to make us think you "made a deal" we are way to smart. The deal you struck is terrible and will not do us any good at all. Get to work and get us some players that count.

figures that some goof from KS would offer a politial comment towards a sports story. idiot. My favorite Gabby memory. Seeing him and his mini mofia hanging at Chambers. He handed his scraps off to his buddies before heading to a strip club. Classic. on or off the ice he was fun to watch. too bad he always seemed hurt.

Gaborik hasn't been happy in Minnesota for quite a while. We always thought DR was the problem. Apparently not. If he has any injury problems in NY...he better get used to being booed at.

' The only question could be how Gaboirk's personality will fit with Tortorella's coaching style as Gaborik's motor in Minnesota has been questioned at times. Recently, Tortorella questioned his team, calling them "soft thinkers," and saying the team had to "change a little bit of the attitude of our club." '

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story...

Uh-oh... Already questioning the fit. Tortorella, you've got another top "soft-thinker." $7.5MM? Almost 14% of your salary cap? Sounds like a coach killer. Good luck.

mine was when he scored 5 goals and missed on 2 other close ones in 1 game. talent like that onlt comes around once in a lifetime. alot of great players have been injured in their careers. lindros, mario lemiux, mike bossy, but they also had complement players next to them. something glenn sather knows all to much about. maybe hell build around him for once gabby doesnt have to do it all himself.
