Here we go. Let's set the team back for another few years and build for a day that will never come.

I understand how the system works, but it saddens me to see Torres go. I hope we go back after him this summer when he's an UFA.

Can we trade Howson too? He is in over his head.

I just don't understand. A second round pick and a defenseman (who we didn't even claim off waivers), for a 20 goal scorer, who isn't over-paid or, it seems, is asking to be over paid. I know we have to serve our youth, but the three (Vorochek, Brassard and Filatov) don't have 20 goals between them... in two seasons! And, in my lowly opinion, Juchina was much more solid that about 5 of the D-men we currently have. Can't say I am impressed by the moves of the last two years. Commodore, Husalius... big money, little results.

I'm sad to see Torres go, but we weren't going to be able to re-sign him next year and it's better to get something in return than keep him for another month and then get nothing. It's totally obvious that some commentators here have ZERO conception of how salary caps and player markets work in professional sports... And NO WE WERE NOT GOING TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. We did not throw in the towel because we've already been knocked out. What happens next year? I don't know, but I do know that Claude Noel is not the long-term answer behind the bench.

Next head on the platter??? HOWSEN'S What in the world is he thinking? TNS/NHL Network has many more trades that will rock the rest of Columbus go check them out. We traded Chimmy for Jurcina/Clark and Jurcina went back to DC for a 6th round pick? We'll never get back in the playoffs! Thanks Howsen...I can think of many other guys they could have gotten rid of but we hang on to those and wait in the wings for another 2, 3 or 4 years till these trade picks are even eligible for the NHL.

Torres may be at his peak value-wise. I somewhat can't fault Howson there.

How can they trade away 19 goals and an emotional leader that gave his all every time he played? I understand getting rid of Jurcina and Modin, but Raffi? Torres wanted to stay here. We need quality players that want to be here and have a passion for the community. That drives them to succeed, to be better. The CBJ have definitely thrown in the towel for this season, and probably the next several as well. Guess I might as well throw in my season tickets. Maybe they can trade me for some guy in Philly or elsewhere.

The Hockey News rates all trades ... winners and losers. The Jackets had 5 trades today and all were rated as winners ... for the other team. The future sure looks bright.

AND WE TRADED MATHIEU ROY???? Now I'm going from confused to a little bit angry. I'm no hockey expert, but I can recognize a good, solid player when I see one. The Modin trade was useless, even with a conditional pick. His contract was gone by the end of the year. But really? Two solid D-men to keep Fedor "Mr. Turnover" Tyutin. And Rusty "here take the puck, just don't hit me" Klesla. Of course, we're stuck with Commodore for a few more years (bad signing fellas. The experts told you so). Next to be gone should be our best all-around defenseman, Jan Hedja. Pretty soon we'll have 6 d-men who should be able to run the point on the powerplay (but can't) or who are offensive defensemen (without the offense part). I'm not a happy camper with these moves.

We got Torres. Torres got Miller. We lost Nathan and a number 2 pick. Can we interest you in Darcy Regier?

Maybe he's not that kind of leader. By the way, how about that performance against Vancouver. Nice. Remeber when RJ Umberger got all watery-eyed because Noel questioned the team's fitness? Looks like Claude was on to something there. My vote is for a fresh start. Trade every big name away and bring in some fresh meat.

Thanks for you hard work here Raffi. I will truly miss watching you play for CBJ! This team has lacked goals and energy this season. You brought us both!! We are now back to "someday we will be really good" mode. Seems like we have been here several times before. The difference this time is that I will not be spending my money on the this team until that time comes. I hope you know what you are doing Mr. Howson because the fans are losing faith in you.

Team had nothing anybody wanted. Says a lot about the front office and their lack of ability to identify draftable talent.

CBJ Ownership...read this message loud and clear. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF ASKING FOR SOME SORT OF PUBLIC BAILOUT ON YOUR LEASE OR THE STADIUM REVENUES. When you put out a bad product, you lose business. When you make bad trades, you lose fans. When you refuse to share your financials, you lose confidence. If any of the county commissioners have further political aspirations, they had better fully understand the consequences of bailing out this organization.
