Cullen for Captain!
And regarding Backstrom, I was among those ragging on him in the preseason, convinced he is grossly overpaid. I am reconsidering. If he can play like this all year (granted, he'll have an off night occasionally), the Wild will make the playoffs. Backstrom has been amazing.

Why do they use the word "star" preceding his name? More apt would be "oft injured". I wonder how all the fans who crowed for Gaborik's head feel now? Are you happy that we traded a superstar and in effect got this bum?

Cullen would be a great Captain for this team!!!! Havlat's about 1000 pounds lighter now with THE GOAL!! Nice to see teammates happy for him, now lets get Lats Back!!

Havlat has to finally start finishing...he is the classic case of the "think too much" quasi superstar (in the eyes of others)..that on again/off again maddening lack of consistency is what made him expendable on a Stanley Cup destined team in Chicago...the time is long since over for anyone to wait for him to grow into his enormous talent...he needs to produce to match the burden his salary has on the cap.

Agreed to all above! Havlat is soft and afraid to go after the puck in the corners and/or take a hit anywhere on the ice! For the amount of money this guys getting paid, it is ridiculous that he has one goal so far. Look at all the other teams; players with Marcia Havlats salary all have anywhere between 6-10 goals already..Guy is vanilla and grossly overpaid..

Blackhawk fans have very short memories, don't they-I think they have enough lack of consistency on the team now-ya think? Its always easier to hate on a player now that he's gone, but Havlat was THE STAR of the team and dissing that makes you look like a fool. Quasi-superstars: Mikko Koivu, Patrick Sharp, Marion Hossa-all lack CONSISTENCY!, if thats all you look at, then you're missing some good hockey!

Badcats... first I am a transplanted Minnesotan, a North Star fan... second...the Hawks were so far over the cap they could not re-sign those they traded...sad but true, Wirtz would have signed everyone off that team if he could. You need to pay attention. They are struggling this year as any team would who had to replace over half of their roster with cheaper younger skaters..Turco has replaced Neimi..they have some pretty good excuses and much lower expectations (7 or 8 seed this year) by all accounts. third...Havlat was not the star, they put all their eggs in one basket with TOews (UND) and Kane with role players and seasoned veterans...so how has that upswing in scoring expected with Havlat work so far? They suffered the same maddening lack of consistency in Chicago fan...since I cannot in good conscioence cheer for the Dallas edition and am not that enamored with the Wild, I am now just a fan of the sport and watch more CCHA & WCHA on satellite thse days...

Havlat was voted the MVP in 2009 by fans of the Blackhawks. I'd call that their star. He currently has 13 points and has had 5 points in 6 games. Maybe not a "true" goal scorer, but if you are truly a fan of the sport, I don't know how you can miss Havlat's skill-one of the most perfect playmakers in the league
