Saran Wrap120 wrote: <quoted text> .... and I suppose that those two losses had nothing to do with the way Detroit played in both games but had everything to do with asst coach Andre Savard's apparent lack of coaching skill? Never said he lacked coaching skill. I was just pointing out that his team is getting flogged by Detriot even though he's working with a far more talented defense and offense than the Panthers every had. And this is the guy we possibly want to make our head coach next season? Interesting.... The reason I brought it up is that the Panthers have a habit of hiring people or acquiring players that are on the downside of their careers. So the question remains, is this the beginning of the downside of Savard's career or just a bump in the road for him? Secondly, is it worth taking that risk?

After all the meetings with season ticket holders that's all they pull out of the hat ? To answer your question, it's not about talent or qualifications anymore. It's about who will be the cheapest hire and who will bow down before Martin. This team is not about winning. It's about giving fans the illusion that ownership is committed to winning.

RED BARON wrote: <quoted text> Never said it was his fault. As for his career, ever heard of "what have you done for me lately?" Exactly, that's the most short-sighted response possible. Especially since it's been ONLY two games. "What have you done for me since the last game?" Two games, nevermind their record coming into the Finals? Nevermind Detroit's amazing experience? Nevermind the regular season that JUST ended? Ridiculous. Doesn't matter, this says Savard has denied the rumours and DOESN'T want to be a head coach, just a GM if anything else. We've got one already..thanks. It's French, but that's what it says...http://www.rds.ca/hocke y/chroniques/252522.html For proof, see Spectors take: http://www.rds.ca/hockey/chroniques/252522.ht... -bottom of the page.

The big fear here since the Keenan saga is that GM and the head coach may not agree with each other 100%-

Cohen probably feels that all he ever wanted to know about NHL he learned from Keenan and now he'll apply it at discount.

Glad to keep you entertained. Fact of the matter is that this team is poised to strike and make a serious run. Problem is the man at the helm is an idiot that couldn't manage a hot dog cart.
I would go after a BIG free agent and resign Branislav Mezei at any cost, this will get us to the playoffs, and beyond!
