Former Minnesota Viking Thomas Tapeh trying to resume career

How about finding out if the Spielman/Childress asked if he had any medical issues? If he lied about it, I am sure they would have tried to recoup the money. Reading between the lines, I believe dumb and dumber didn't ask or do their due dilligence. Kind of like signing a speedy WR who had turf toe the previous year. Kind of like signing a Safety with a previous career threatening neck injury. Kind of like signing a 7th rd pick Center Ryan COOK in the 2nd RD and play him out of position?? He never played RT EVER!! How about that Genius move to give up a 3rd RD pick to move up to draft Jackson lmao... Idiots making millions of dollars and don't have the common sense to investigate a potential signing. Why haven't the Vikings won a playoff game again?

Apparently, the Vikings were very eager to sign Thomas Tepeh last winter after they made the decision to not bring back Tony Richardson, the starting fullback from the previous season. Coincidentally, Thomas just happened to be in town for a charity fundraiser sponsored by former Gopher teammate Marion Barber,III's mother. The Vikings had no idea he was in town on the day that he signed with them, but they reached him by his cell phone early in the morning. Learning that Thomas was in town, they sent a limousine to pick him up and bring him to their headquarters in Eden Prairie. They were so eager to sign him that day, Friday, February 29th, 2008, that they never asked him if he had had any off-season injuries or surgery. They never asked Thomas to work out in shorts where it would have been rather easy to spot any scars on his knees or his legs. Incredibly, they did not have Thomas take a pre-signing physical examination by their team doctors, a practice that is standard operating procedure for any competent NFL team management. Thomas went through all of the pre-fall practice workouts, training camp, played in two exhibition games and was healthy and ready to play when the season started. However, the Viking brain trust decided to go with the rookie Tahi at fullback, rather than the veteran Thomas Tepeh. He was never told why he was not playing, or that the coaches were dissatisfied with his performance in practice.
This story is really about money, the Vikings decided that they were going to get by on the cheap by going with the rookie and cutting the veteran fullback whom they had just signed for $6 million over five years. NFL football is a bottom line business, and the Vikings decided to make a scapegoat out of Thomas Tepeh, instead of admitting that this was a bottom line, money-saving business decision.

I hope that Thomas Tepeh wins the NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award, wherever he ends up playing.Thomas Tepeh is a fine young man and deserved much better than the shabby treatment afforded him by the Minnesota Vikings management

So after all the money the team has spent to bring in good free agents in the last few years, they decided to cut the freakin FULLBACK during the regular season because of his "huge" veteran salary (and then still pay him anyway) just so they could put a inexpensive rookie in front of the RB who has kept Childress employed...?

I don't know what your serious face looks like, so I can't tell if you're joking or not.

If money was the reason behind this situation, wouldn't it have made more sense to cut one of the players whose salary actually put a dent in the cap?

BTW, I would very much like to know what actually happened. I like Tapeh and was upset by his lack of time on the field and his eventual release from the team. I wonder why he hasn't been outspoken about events...
