Do you really think some judge is going to oppose a work project that will employ hundreds of people in a double digit unemployment rate environment??? Let's talk political suicide. Whatever judge decides that better remember that the past can come and haunt you! Just ask Sonia Sotomayor.

Walnut doesn't want the stadium built so they can have the megaplex built instead with same cookie cutter franchise restaurants like Chilli's and Applebee's...and Asian stores or another Gap and Starbucks....NFL stadium goes against all Asian values..believe me, Im Asian..I grew hearing about how American sports are stupid..but I am a fan of American sports especially the NFL....eventually Majestic realty will win..but will they be able to buy a team, thats the true problem Roski faces..ask Edward..no team=no stadium...

A new EIR for the stadium which is factual, truthful and accurate will demonstrate that this location is not feasible for a stadium. A new EIR doesn't guarantee the stadium will be built. A new EIR will however, expose the many deficiencies in the current EIR.
You hope it does, but the fact of the matter is that it will most likely reach the same conclusions.

Then what?

Has anyone stopped to think that Walnut made a ridiculous offer knowing that Majestic Realty would not agree to it? Walnut does not want to be made into a ghetto city that draws in a bunch of traffic and drunken fans. While I would love to have a football stadium closer, Walnut is definitely not the place. The 57/60 split is already a nightmare as it is.
Could it also be that Majestic has rejected the offer and prefers court, knowing full well the cost will be less than the blackmail negotiations of the city?

And what makes you think Walnut will become a ghetto city? What do you base this on?

i'm not a raider fan , i'm a ram fan and i hate the chargers. it will be a huge mistake to bring the chargers to la because no one will ever follow them. they have been trying to shove the chargers down la fans throats since the rams and raiders left and it has not worked, never will

"Some of Walnut's requests included an aquatics center, a banquet facility, citywide landscaping, a 48-acre park and work to make Meadow Pass Road a through street, according to Semcken's letter."

Terminate that shat immediately. Industry has been too kind for too long. They will dominate these pathetic towns in court. I've been following this situation for a while now and all these hack lawsuits and settlement proposals are sickening.

PS- Roski is never going to get a team to sell him a 40% stake. No team = No stadium. But seriously, these suits are so chump.

Yes, this could be the case, too. I don't even think I need answer the ghetto question. Look at crime around any sporting center. Also, not that all people are ghetto that go to football games, but it doesn't exactly bring the best walks of life. People that don't live in Walnut aren't directly affected, so they don't care. End of story.

I'm a life long Steelers fan but I'm definitely going to switch sides if and when a team comes. Even the Lions.

However, L.A. has a lot of great franchises like the Lakers, Dodgers, and USC..

Chargers aren't really a great franchise so I'm not sure if they will succeed in L.A.
People in L.A. like good franchises.
Raiders are struggling and are nasty bad but they are a good franchise. Besides, there is still a strong Raiders fan base.

Walnut did not want a seat at the dinner table they want to crash the party. How this City has the money to go to court when every other City around them is broke is something that should be looked in to. You would think the City of Walnut would want to benefit. their is millions of dollars to be made here and Walnut does not want any of it.

Maybe it isn't always about the money. Maybe the city council consists of residents of Walnut. Residents who bought there because it was a great place to raise a family, away from all the crap that comes along with city life.

No, you do need to answer the ghetto question. I ask this because it is a foregone conclusion among anti stadium folks that Walnut will turn into a ghetto and I am very curious as to why.(I believe this is based on bigotry and racism and am really waiting for someone to prove me wrong.) The stadium in Glendale Arizona isn't in a ghetto. Candlestick isn't in a ghetto. You obviously haven't been to Anaheim lately.

Please annotate any study that shows an increase in crime around a sporting venue.

Any sporting venue has an increase in crime? Lambeau Field in Green Bay?Horseshoe at Ohio State? Rose Bowl? Really? Please prove it.

It doesn't bring the best walks of life? What do you consider the best walks of life? You are obviously well versed in the kind of folks who make up the NFL fan base and how they don't meet up with your definition of the finest walks of life. Please explain.

I think your last sentence says it all, "End of story." you don't like being argued with. You think because you say it, then it is true and there is not point for further discussion. But I am not your children nor your husband and will not meekly walk away.

No, it is all about money. The city of Walnut views this as an opportunity to blackmail Majestic. All the talk about quality of life and bucolic settings is just that, talk.

I find it funny that you are against development yet the reason Walnut exists is because of development. As time moves on the neighborhood changes and is replaced with the new.

Ignorant! You're citing stadiums that are NOT in Southern California. The demographic makeup is MUCH different out of state when compared to Southern California. How many ghetto individuals do you see going to Packers games?

I have been in Anaheim lately, actually, as I used to live in that city. And frankly, there were shootings and gang activity quite often. Just because you've been to 20 square feet of the city (off of Katella), does not mean that you know the city. And I do want argument, but not from someone who lives in Riverslime. I would rather argue with a person who actually lives in Walnut, and knows how the residents will be affected in the most adverse ways.

You are always comparing our area to out of state areas that we don't care about. All we care about is what is happening in our backyards. If this stadium goes in it will turn into the ghetto. Where you live is the ghetto you are use to it so you know no different.
