Full story: San Gabriel Valley Tribune

Majestic Realty has terminated negotiations with Walnut over a proposed NFL stadium, saying city officials requested a "wish list of tens of millions of dollars" that had little to do with the project.

See what happens when you get greedy you bunch of morons in Walnut. You get the door slammed in your face like you deserve it. Pity you will never see the benefits. Oh but wait. Don't forget to pick up your legal bill from your bloodsucking law firm who will be laughing all the way to the bank...WITH WALNUT'S MONEY! Think of the aquatic center you could have built with the money you wasted on legal fees. Well I guess it's true...you have to be a walNUT to oppose this project the way you are doing it.

Walnut doesn't want the stadium built so they can have the megaplex built instead with same cookie cutter franchise restaurants like Chilli's and Applebee's...and Asian stores or another Gap and Starbucks....NFL stadium goes against all Asian values..believe me, Im Asian..I grew hearing about how American sports are stupid..but I am a fan of American sports especially the NFL....eventually Majestic realty will win..but will they be able to buy a team, thats the true problem Roski faces..ask Edward..no team=no stadium...

"I knew it" is 100% right. Walnut is up against the best attorneys money can buy. I'm sorry to say that most of the people in Walnut are of the mentality of "what else can I get for free?" They should have followed Diamond Bar's lead and taken what was offered. If for some reason, which I doubt, the stadium does not go through, Walnut will end up with warehouses, same traffic the stadium would have attracted on a daily basis, and no other benefits. Greed will get you nowhere.

Their offer sounded more like a bribe. If you give us this goodie bag we'll drop the lawsuit. Semcken and Roski arent idiots. LA live and Staples are huge successes because these guys know how to negotiate. Walnut has successfully stopped the Target shopping center from being built in their city. Is that all they got? They are so proud of themselves for that.

Has anyone stopped to think that Walnut made a ridiculous offer knowing that Majestic Realty would not agree to it? Walnut does not want to be made into a ghetto city that draws in a bunch of traffic and drunken fans. While I would love to have a football stadium closer, Walnut is definitely not the place. The 57/60 split is already a nightmare as it is.

Ha HA! I knew this deal wouldn't work. Back to square one for Roski and Majestic. They have a real problem on their hands with this pile of s##t EIR. I don't care how good your lawyers are or how much you pay them, a commercialcomplex is NOT the same project as a stadium. Good luck getting a judge in liberal CA courts to agree with their positions...

BTW: Does anyone think Roski will really get out of the casino and gaming business in order to purchase an NFL team? He'd have to in order to purchase a team...

The worst that can happen is the judge will tell Roski to draft a new EIR. That would delay, but in no way stop the project. Bottom line, Walnut is going to spend a lot of money to delay the inevitable!!

Good for Walnut---If this stadium is built and a team comes here it will become gangsterville just like Dodger stadium, the ols Raiders stadium, Magic Mountain and Citywalk have become. Build it and they will come. All the Surenos are waiting to fly the colors of their new team. Orale.

Back to square one for Roski or back to square one for Walnut? Who looks like the idiot here? It certainly isnt Roski. The Chatten Brown lawyers are embarrased and have egg on their face. They are stuck between a rock and hard place because they're fighting an issue they cant win but the money is keeping them alive in this economy.

A new EIR for the stadium which is factual, truthful and accurate will demonstrate that this location is not feasible for a stadium. A new EIR doesn't guarantee the stadium will be built. A new EIR will however, expose the many deficiencies in the current EIR.

You've got to be kidding me! Did you see what they arroved on the original EIR? This stadium plan has less impact and is smaller in scale. Pay attention!!!!!

None of this matters in the reality of constructing this stadium. The truth is that the lack of a team wanting to sell to Roski is what will put the final nail in this project's coffin. Add to this the lack of private development money Roski needs and Majestic's declining fortunes, this project is going exactly...nowhere.
