Cedric Benson tried to hide his anger behind a smile, but he was visibly ticked off about the verbal assault brought on Chargers' linebacker Shaun Phillips.

Benson a tough runner, give me a break!! Let alone to hold on to the ball, and maybe break a tackle or two. Only time will tell if Benson was worth that first round pick, but I doubt it.

Benson should start making "any day" every game. I could care less what he did in 5th grade or in college. He has yet to prove himself in the NFL. I sense another Enis/Salaam.

Benson hasn't shown me anything since being drafted. He's always hurt, he has never ran anyone over.(Practice doesn't count!!). Super Bowl 2006 he sucked. Oh I forgot he got hurt after running into one of the Colt's db's. Enough said, this guy is a complete bust and a whiner. Lovey get some backbone and stop trying to kiss up to managements terrible personel choices. Benson, Grossman and others. How about putting the best and hardest playing players into the game and stop wasting our time with these losers, ala Cedric loser Benson and you the other guy (Grossman)

Yes, Cedric, you do need to defend yourself as a tough runner. Nothing you've shown in the time you've been with the Bears has proven that you're even close to tough. Quite the contrary. And maybe you should try to hold onto the ball, too.

Wholeheartedly agree, thought Jones was a better back than Bensen but I'm just a fan, they made a move they believe will benefit/improve the team. I just don't see it myself. |

Maybe he's right. Benson doesn't seem like he has what it takes. Maybe if Benson actually accomplished something when he had the ball besides running into a pile or fumbling, no one would call him soft.

they did what we did to there back stack 8 he really didn't have any room and really the blocking was not there at times he did better than who was the other guy running sunday. he got lucky on 1 sack there defense to me wasent that good they blitzed alot and the passing game was not there at all so that didn't help him much. this Sunday watch everyone will forget about last sunday and i hope the reach the super bowl with us so he could take care of of his mouth on the field not behind a mic

Benson had the chance to "run over the dude" - twice. 2nd and 4th down. He didn't. Sorry, but in my experience, Benson is was to passive to be successful in the NFL. I hope he proves me wrong, but I don't think he will.

Benson's the one shooting off his mouth (as usual!). The more times that I read this article ---- Benson comes off sounding more addle-brained !! "He doesn't know who the guy is"....... He doesn't know his number......... Yet, Benson said that the guy-he-doesn't-know didn't trash talk. No, THAT GUY let his PLAY do the talking. AND, Benson HAD BETTER get to know each and every player that he plays against!-- because that's what REAL PROs do !! Finally, Benson had his chance ---- but didn't "run over" ANYONE on Sunday. TALK IS CHEAP !! And he REALLY should try to "run over people", NOT "run people over"! |
