When you have opposing views you find the middle ground and he was pretty good at that. I disagreed with many of his environmental policies, especially putting big industries polluters in charge of...you guessed it, making our rivers, streams and lakes cleaner. But as far as the BEST Governor many will say it was Casey. I was living out of state during most of his two terms.

Rex J Steelman wrote: <quoted text> Obama didn't say that there would be no tax increases on the wealthy--he said he is thinking of letting the tax cuts expire rather than repealing them immediately (someting conservative economists are arguing for, by the way). And you are correct--the money initially goes on the tab. But at least in this case, the country is actually getting something back on an actual investment. Improving infrastructure and building green energy technology is vitally necessary and will provide a huge boost to the economy both short-term (in terms of construction/technology jobs) and in the long term. I guess you like it better when those billions are just being flushed down Halliburton toilets. How do you like him now? Where is the huge boost to the economy? What are we getting back on our actual investment?

I don't think the stimulus package was big enough, and any economist who backed a stimulus package (which was almost all of them) said the same thing at the time. Watered-down versions of his policies will eventually improve the horrendous mess he's inherited, just not as fast as the stronger versions he originally advocated. If I have one problem with Obama, it's that he pays too much attention to slack-jawed tea-baggers like you, when it's clear that you want him to fail so badly you'd happily watch your country fail along with him. Stop hating America, Barry--it's ugly to listen to.

the stimulus package is working the economy is rebounding and the jobs will follow. that's always the way of it. first businesses need to see an uptick before they start hiring again. that's economics 101.

Stop hating America, Barry--it's ugly to listen to. You think I hate America because I disagree with the agenda of "progressives"? Wow, that's not very objective. Sound like you think everyone should agree with you to love their country. That ugly to listen to.

Why do you assume that I want the country to fail? I hope you are right about the jobs following this "rebound". I am seeing too many people losing jobs. 10.2% unemployment. I talk to people everyday that can't find work. Where is their bailout? These are our neighbors. You are lucky enough to have job where you can post on topix all day. You call me anti-american because I question the direction of the leaders and disagree with the socialist agenda. What does that make you?
