This is good news. Our QB finally has some weapons to work with for once. I like the Eagles chances this season.

McNabb is probably the greatest QB ... when it comes to winning just enough to look like a great QB, but never quite being able to take the team all the way!

How much more than the almost $10M/year in his existing contract did Lurie throw away to keep McNabb?

You are only GREAT if you DON'T CHOKE UNDER PRESSURE. So what would that make McNabb? The greatest losing QB in history?

I am glad McNabb got a better deal because he really is the only option the Eagles have at QB. I am more worried about what happens after McNabb leaves or gets hurt. The Eagles do not have a successor or a quality #2. Kevin Kolb is not the answer, and I doubt he will ever be a starter in te NFL. The guy is atrocious.

Supposedly 2 years $24 million total. So basically a 5 million dollar raise over 2 years... He was overpaid with the last contract...but then again 80% of Major League players, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB are grossly overpaid.

In defense of McNabb, Favre and Elway didn't win the SB until a bit later in their careers and if DM is healthy,
as he was last year, there is no reason he shouldn't have a fine season.
As far as pay, yes, too much money is thrown around at most professional athletes.
Hopefully, all the money is not guaranteed without certain benchmarks being obtained.

I love the Eagles fans. How can you possibly justify a raise. You can have all the probowl players you want. I'll take my six pack thank you.

How much of a pretentious douche do you have to be, to go to your boss and say "10 million dollars a year isn't enough" ?

good to see the team reward McNabb with millions for winning nothing and being a career failure

I was watching the NFL network the other day and they showed McNabb Puking.
After reading this article and what Lurie said:(''Donovan has played a large part of this team's success over the last 10 years,'' Eagles chairman Jeffrey Lurie said.''He has been a professional in every sense of the word.'') it made me laugh.
It is not just the players that make this team a loser. It starts at upper management.

Hasn't he been to the NFC title game four times now and lost ie CHOKED??? He's been to the Superbowl once and lost ie CHOKED??? What has he done to deserve a raise??? The answer is NOTHING!!!!!! In Lurie's eyes it appears that getting really close and failing over and over again deserves a raise. Lurie has an interesting business philosophy. In the real business world if someone gets close to completing business projects but in the end never completes them over and over again they usually get fired. Isn't McNabb's business project to win a Superbowl??? I wonder how many more times he's going to be allowed to fail before he gets fired. Really, what incentive does McNabb have to win a Superbowl??? The reality is, he keeps getting rewarded for always losing in the end, when everything is on the line!!!!

Lurie probably places playoff bets AGAINST the Eagles. Keeping McNabb makes his bets a sure thing
