So much propaganda, so little time. Let's see here:

>>>"Foes of legalization argue that already-rampant pot use by adolescents would worsen if adults could smoke at will."

Wrong. In the Netherlands, where marijuana use by adults is legal, they have HALF the usage by youth - and everyone - as we do in the U.S. It is MARIJUANA PROHIBITION that puts marijuana in the hands of children. Legal vendors don't want to risk losing their licences by selling to minors.

>>>"it's the wrong message to send our youth,"

More greedy prohibitionists hiding behind the children. Putting innocent Americans in cages for consuming a non-addictive plant far less harmful than alcohol sends a GOOD message? Not.

>>>"U.S. demand for pot is a key factor in the Mexican drug war."
Wrong again. Marijuana PROHIBITION is the key factor in the Mexican drug war. Just like alcohol prohibition was the key factor in the bootleg violence of Al Capone and associates during the 1930s.

>>>"It will create dependency and treatment issues, and open the door to use of other drugs, impaired health, delinquent behavior, and drugged drivers."

No. Marijuana is non-addictive. It requires no treatment anymore than someone who eats a lot of ice cream needs treatment. The DEA knows better than the lie about "opening the door to use of other drugs." AKA the "gateway myth." The Drug Czar's own 1999 Institute of Medicine Report found there is no gateway effect. The only gateway effect is created by prohibition. The Dutch found that legal marijuana removes cannabis consumers from criminals who sell hard drugs. They report this benefit has caused an aging out of the hard drug using population.-- Marijuana is remarkably benign. The only health effect is mild bronchitis by heavy users. Even this small problem is easily avoided by consuming marijuana with vaporizers. No smoke, no harm. LOL! The only reason marijuana is associated with delinquent behavior is -again - because of prohibition. A fraudulent law causes disrespect for the law in general. And marijuana is not a significant cause of auto accidents. It is less intoxicating and impairing than alcohol. More importantly, while alcohol causes people to think they are better drivers, thus driving faster and more aggressively, marijuana consumers are more aware of their altered state and prefer not to drive. If they must, they drive slower and more cautiously to compensate.-- Some studies have even shown marijuana consumers have less accidents than totally straight people.

>>>"marijuana is now at its most potent, in part because of refinements in cultivation."

So? More potent marijuana is actually healthier, since consumers smoke less of it to get the high they want.

>>>"her agency deals with scores of youths each year whose social development has been hurt by early and frequent pot smoking."

This is an argument for ENDING marijuana prohibition, not continuing the fraud. It is prohibition that puts marijuana into childrens' hands, as noted before.--- Next lie/deception, please.
