Panthers extend Delhomme through 2014

Full story: Asheville Citizen-Times

CHARLOTTE After the worst game of Jake Delhomme's career came in an ugly playoff loss, the Carolina Panthers never wavered that he was still their quarterback for the long-term. On Thursday, they proved it, giving Delhomme a five-year, $42.5 million extension that keeps the 34-year-old under contract through the 2014 season.

What a joke! How are they going to become a better team with a quarterback like Jake. WHY are they not realizing there are many more highly qualified quarterbacks who if given the opportunity would certainly put the Panthers back on the route to success? Looks like it will be the same old routine for the '09 season...BLAH.....

The fans pay the players salary. IF the fans stop going to games then maybe they will get rid of "Jake SuckA55" Just my opinion.

I concur with the blogs about Jake. I trying to figure out what the hell is going on in Carolina? I have come to the conclusion this team is throwing games! Could you please tell me what's the point spread so I can place my bet for the other team? It has become apparent that this organization is delusional.
