The argument about which team is the best in the NFC boils down...

Nationally, everybody has the Saints ahead of the Vikings.

Saints have beaten:

Lions
Eagles
Bills
Jets
Giants
Dolphins -- Dolphins led most of the game
Falcons -- Falcons within 7 points until late in the 4th

27 - 20 combined record outside their head to head matchup...

Compare that to the Vikings' opponents 17-15 combined record outside games with the Vikes.

Pretty close if you ask me. Bring back a healthy Winfield and it'll be even closer.

If the vikings ever play the saints it'll take a total team effert to win it we have to hit on all phases of the game special teams , defense, and offense. Our defense i am so proud the front line the wiiiiams boys and jerad allen and the others who are remarkable also to win our defense has to deck the opposing quarterback and hopefully our secondary will be well by then. Our time is now to win it all lets not muff it no one going to give it to us we got to gut it up and take it no if's and or butt's kicked go vikings.

I wonder what Brett Favre is doing today.

Don't know how I'll ever make it through Sunday without the Vikings.

The Saints scare the crap out of me. They play with confidence and swaggar on both sides of the ball, and well earned I'd say.

If the Vikings can get Winfield back healthy and Berrian clicking with Farve as well as the other WR's we have a goood chance. As good as anybody.

I hope it comes down to these two for the NFC championship. I'm a Viking fan through and through but you gotta like the way the Saints are playing. And with the whole New Orleans deal it makes for an interesting storyline.

The Saints at this point are a better all around team than the Vikes. That said, there is an entire half of the season yet to be played, and much can change in a short amount of time for both teams as far as injuries and better competition go late in the year.

Sharper was let go by the Packers, who thought he lost a step 5 years ago. Vikings thought he lost a step last year. Sharp just keeps on keepin' on. We sure could use a playmaking safety in our secondary about now....Williams and Tyrell need to step their game up both in coverage and run support. Sharper has more INT's than our whole team.

He still takes some pretty bad angles, but when your team is up by 21 points most of the team, it tends to cover flaws.

I sure hope it comes down to Saints vs Vikes for the NFC. Would be a helluva game.

It's all how they're playing at the end of the year.

A few teams have stumbled early, but at the end of the season the NFC playoff picture could very well be: Vikings, Saints, Eagles, Cowboys, Giants, Cards....

Let's not forget the Vikes beat them last year in NO with a bad QB. Granted N.O.'s D is playing better, but our O is much, much better and Bush won't take two punts back this year. Brees has never won a big game in his career. Sharper is still slow, Micheal Turner ran right around him the other night for a TD. Favre will have no problem with Sharper, remember how Favre torched us with Sharper? All that said, Peterson and the O line will be the key. Adrian with 30 carries and 200 yds would go a long way.

The Saints are good, but our VIKES are better. Eight turnovers for the Saints in the last two games proves that they do have some issues to be concerned about. Let's not crown the Saints NFC champs just yet. They've only played one division game so far, so alot can happen. GO VIKES!!!!!!

Ummm... we also have a guy named Harvin who's the leading rookie of the year candidate. He seems to be able to do everything on offense except guard, tackle or QB...but they haven't tried him there yet either lol

I agree with the guy who says nationally the Saints are considered better. Of course this could have been different if the Vikes had beaten the Steelers.

Well you can only face whoever's on your schedule... And a WIN is a WIN. Baltimore didn't deserve to win if they couldn't make a field goal. If the Lions and Browns were so "potent"... why did they lose?

Im a life-long Viking fan and am thrilled by what I've seen so far this year but the "D" has to remember a game consists of 4 quarters.......That said, they have the talent to fix that problem.

I think the Vikings can beat every team in the NFC/AFC. They are that high of a caliber team that it is possible.- Question is, is part of the team going to play as if they didn't show up in some of these regular season/playoff games.
I thought our Defense did exceptionally well in the Vikings/Steelers game. Besides a few minor unlucky mistakes on offense, I think we could of possibly of taken that game. But that loss was a blessing in disquise, IMO. The Saints look dangerous, but with our high-caliber offense, we can match their points on the board. I think that game will come down to who does better in the backfield defensively.(If we do end up playing them)-- Coming off our 'bye' week, we have a few games to get us back into the swing of things. Which is great in case Winfield isn't fully healed. I've been following the NFC closely, and the only team that scares me is the NO Saints.. I see them maybe only losing 1 or 2 games.
