Like the swagger, but the Vikes are one team that needs to stay focused week-to-week. We can't get ahead of ourselves...haven't manhandled too many other teams this season. Even though we seem to have the potential to dominate, have let too many opponents back into the game. Might be to our disadvantage to be having such an easy time with the North division...guys let up on their intensity. I would like this team to finish 15-1 now, and start running up the score on a few teams. There's plenty of room for improvement......

We can not let up we got to keep the momenton going, if we let up we get used to loseing. It's out there the win that is, if we want it all we got to take it all. Great teams keep the winning up and we got to gut it up and play smash mouth football go vikings.

"You never know how a team ends up panning out," McKinnie said. "Last year, they predicted us to go to the Super Bowl, and it looks like we have a better chance to go this year than last year, so who knows?"

What? Last year's team had flaws and this year's team has flaws. It's the mid-point of the season....Super Bowl?????

The Vikings pass defense borders on pathetic, and yes, Adrian is on schedule to run for 1400 yards, but the running game is not dominant.....they've got to work on run blocking, deceptive ball handling, and pass defense.,,,,,all the while continuing to work on what they do well...

Making the playoffs is likely, but the Cowboys, Saints, Eagles, and/or Cardinals could very well eliminate them in a heartbeat.

One game at a time....I look for Number 12 to take at least 2 Punt Returns for Touchdowns in Sunday's Detroit game..and every time Harvin is on the field. I set on the edge of my chair and look to see just where number 12 is set up....The rest of the players are fun to watch, yes, but Percy is the most exciting one to watch!!

I don't think the Vikings are going to overlook anyone, although they do play several teams that are down but not out. We've been brilliant in the passing game, really, but we need to win with fewer passes. I don't think Favre is going to struggle down the stretch like last season, but there is going to be fatigue setting in if he's averaging 40+ passes per game and getting sacked or knocked down several times a game. Chilly needs to go back to the drawing board and figure out how to generate more out of AD and the running game - it's been ok, but too many teams have been able to shut it down and put it on Favre to win the game. That being said, if we can keep Favre fresh, I think we've got an offense that no defense is going to stop.
There are more problems on defense, but nothing major. I think if Winfield gets healthy again things will instantly look better. I think in some ways the dropoff in run defense is more of a concern than the pass defense. If we stop the run and force teams to pass, then JA and co will be able to bring the pressure and shut down the pass as well. We do need to be careful of blitzing, especially without Winfield - one thing that seems to have picked up over last year is coverage sacks.
All that being said, I think this is the best Vikings team that we've seen since '98, and possibly better yet. I don't think we're 'lucky' to be 7-1, I think we're that good and we're going deep in the playoffs. Whatever happens, so far this is definitely the best season in recent memory.

I think you are forgetting one key factor here. Childress has opened up the play-book with Favre at the helm and lets him make check-down changes at the line. He's done it many times this year already and the results are pretty spectacular. If Childress makes a call that Favre doesn't think is going to work, he has the option to change it. Favre wants a win more than he want's to keep his coach happy. I think that most of Childress haters are going to be coming around here as the rest of the season plays out. In the Green Bay game he took several chances (4th down plays, stretching the field on 1st down) in that game that really paid off. This year they've got the team to make things happen. Now if they could just get Winfield back in time for the Bengals or the Cardinals, things would be even better.

as STACK posted...i also like the swagger, but, focus, focus focus is the name of the game. the VIKES need to take every team serious, regardless of their record, because if the VIKES have to go to NO...that could spell disaster...i would rather they come to us. old number 42 of NO will definitely have something to prove to EL KLINKO and will play out of his jock strap at home..to say nothing for the ZEBRA'S penchant for giving the VIKE'S the shaft. so far, teams have elected to concentrate on AD and let BF try and beat them, he has risen to the challenge, but, KLINK and company need to find other easing this burden...they need him healthy for any playoff run....GO VIKES!!!

oh danny boy has it almost right I beleive it was the offensive cordinator who made the calls but I'm sure Cuildress deserves a lot of credit also for that conservative play calling in the past. There's still time too dump that cover 2 or Tampa 2 defense and move the safety's up so their involved with the game. Unfortunately I think the cover 2 defense will be responsible for the vikings exit from the playoffs this year.

Anyone else find it ironic that not one fan that talks about the Vikings needing to take it one game at a time has mentioned the Lions? Fans need to take it week to week as well and stop projecting wins and records. Enjoy the wins without being so paranoid about their future record or whether they are going to go one and done in the playoffs. Like it or not the odds are the season will end in a loss -- you can say this about every team that is winning right now though. If your enjoyment of the season is based entirely on the Vikings winning the Super Bowl you have a good chance of being disappointed (so do the Saints and Colts fans).

Be carefull Viking's, don't put the horse in front of the cart yet, take heed you need to stay focused on every game that is remaining to get to your goals that you are after. After this past weekend the Green Bay Packer's got into that look a head mode that got them in trouble with the Buccaneer's, just remember any given day
the worst team in the NFL can blow you away in one game, just ask the Buccaneer's,
don't get caught in the middle of that hoop lu, you need to stay focused on your main goals to get what the Minnesota Viking's Fans are well deserved of for home field advantage in your Championship Drive for 2009-2010. Minnesota Viking's give your loyal fan's over the years something to talk some trash for a while just like the
other NFL Teams have enjoyed for there fans to celebrate, other words that is called legal bragging rights for the fan's to share together with your team--"GO GET EM
VIKES"--take it to the house to enjoy with your fans to share with you.

Funny they quote McKinney when he seems to be the guy standing there looking confused when a play goes awry. Seriously, he's big but has little talent.

If we play the Saints it will be an interesting game. Since we always collapse in the 2nd half and the Saints always seem to make a big 2nd half comeback.
