We all know that in this 2007-08 season Tom Brady is really outdoing the other QB's, but we know he's not the best ever. For one this is really his first great breakout season. Many other quartedbacks have done better all aroung, ex. Peyton Manning, this year he might be doing decent but in his last 5 or 6 years no one could touch his. Then you know you got Steve McNair, John Elway, Dante Culpepper, and others who've been doing it for more that one season.

I may be a total patriots homer.. but I have to go with yes here.

The guy is torching records right now, is averaging a Superbowl win every other year he is in the league, and has 8 more good years at LEAST to play.

The guy wins. and wins a LOT. it is all he does.

Tom hasn't proven he's the greatest of all time, yet. This season, when he throws 60 touchdowns, goes 19-0, wins his 4th superbowl, is superbowl MVP a 3rd time, people will have to consider him when discussing the greatest ever. In 2 or 3 more years, everyone will start to agree, Tom Brady is the greatest football player ever.

Hard fought win by the Pats tonight. Nice to see Brady and company can still find a win even when the opponent comes in firing on all cylinders and with a perfect game plan.

maybe you need this explained. being the best has nothing to do with individual stats, it has to do with winning under pressure. you have guys up there that all together have as many rings as brady. thats four guys that he matches superbowl rings with. sure manning has had better stats but look at brady's playoff record and how many two minute comebacks he has had with much more mediocre players than those guys had. manning still proves he chokes more often than he comes through in big games so he can have his 13-3 seasons, culpepper has never won a ring and mcnair has nothing to brag about. if you want to compare him put some real names up there...elway can stay, montana, young, aikman, bradshaw. those are guys you need to be comparing him to, not culpepper, who only really had one or two good years.
brady is considered one of the best because he wins when it matters, he never loses his cool and he isnt afraid to play. thats what being the best is, carrying your team when they are down and getting the job done.
there will always be debates on who is the best so as long as he is considered one of the best thats all you can ask for.

i guess you just started watching football this year because if you hadnt you would know brady has been in the top five in stats with no name receivers for the last five years up until this year. thats a real qb, someone who can get it done with a bunch of replacements and no running game. manning lost his #1 guy this year and instantly started playing like a rookie. he hasnt done anything since harrison got hurt. he choked during the pats game(typical for him in big games), threw 6 interceptions the next week and couldnt score one td against kc at home. thats pathetic. makes you wonder how mannings stats would be if he and harrison never played together. seems like harrison makes manning what HE is, not the other way around.
brady has done it in the clutch for 6 years now with a new group of receivers almost every year. thats a real qb.

...you're on to something there...he seems "really frazzled" without Harrison...Brady uses all equally and has for years. Good point.

Brady best? We may never know for sure. How indepth was the cheating and how long was it going on? Did it extend to sending out scouts to spy in locker rooms and steal opposing teams knowledge of plays?

They fine the coach add a restriction or 2 and continue on like nothing happened. That leaves a big question mark. Were the Super Bowls won without any cheating behind the scenes? How many years did the players of this team and other teams believe this cheating was going on? Why would a star receiver leave the Patriots?

That team has too many unanswered questions to take seriously as a team in my opinion.

so winning three out of four superbowls in his first four years isnt an accomplishment? how about he has the best alltime playoff record already? thats not an accomplishment either? newsflash to all you peyton manning type fans. individual stats dont make you great. wins do, especially playoff and superbowl wins. brady has never had a losing season, largely with a team of nobodies, he has more successful two minute drills than anyone out there and of course what he does in the playoffs. how can you not say he is atleast in the top five of all time already. he doesnt need to go undefeated or throw 60 td's this year. he just wins, and he could retire after this year and still be a hall of famer because of what he has already accomplished. look at dan marino, never won a ring so how can you deny a qb that has 3 in his first 6 years?

you should understand what they got in trouble for before you call it cheating. why is it misinformed people like yourself are stuck on them cheating their way to superbowls with LEGAL video and the league and everyone in it hasnt said a word resembling cheating? even when spygate was the top story. it hasnt been a story in months except for people like you who dont understand what you are talking about so instead of posting something intelligent you keep regurgitating a dead issue.

there will always be a debate on the clearcut best of all time but for you to say he clearly isnt is just a bias opinion of a fan of a qb who plays his worst games of the year when it really matters, in the playoffs...peyton "choke under pressure" manning. i hope you werent going to go on about how mannings individual stats in the regular season make him a better qb than brady. manning had his best statistical performance last year in the playoffs of his career:

against kc-1 td 3 int
against baltimore-0 td 2 int
against new england-1 td 1 int
against chicago-1 td 1 int

thats 4 td's and 7 int's and that was his BEST playoff performance of his entire career. he has done this since college. he completely falls apart individually when the pressure is on. if it werent for your defense stepping up late last year the colts would have been 1 and out yet again.

so you keep saying your qb is the best but make sure you say he is the best only when it doesnt matter, in the regular season and real fans who understand the sport will classify him for what he is. a qb with great individual stats but who has failed miserably on an individual level during the playoffs.

atleast brady will be discussed with the greatest of all time because the greatest of all time dont choke under pressure and lead their teams to championships. manning gets his team to the playoffs, i wont deny that but once he gets there they might as well put in the backup since manning's stats go down the toilet immediately. he is like a-rod. a beast during the regular season and as soon as he is in the playoffs he forgets how to hit. its funny how the two highest paid players in their respected sports can only do it during the regular season. i thought you got the big bucks for producing in the playoffs and not choking. dont know about everyone else but ill take a 6th round draft pick who took a paycut a few years ago to leave more money to get other players like brady did, than to have a guy like manning who takes 30% of the salary cap from his team and leaves nothing for other players. then the same guy in manning chokes in the playoffs and he has noone on his team to step up. sounds like a big waste of money to me. good thing your defense got going when they did last year.

atleast its backed up by facts. unlike your praise of manning being the best when all the stats clearly show he cant get it done when it matters. its not opinion, its fact backed up by 10 years of stats. also mannings individual regular season stats arent that much better than brady's and brady has three less years in the league than manning. what does that tell you? notice how you have no argument about my last post proving all this.
