Hear me? Harvin was awesome tho..........match up wise he still caught all them balls..........hear me?
Ponder needs a go to guy..........it will take pressure off him..........
Time is now..........AP.....Blackmon.. .....or Marshall..........lol......... Ponder and two decent tight ends' will pose HUGE Match-up PROBS 4 any D.
ONE AND I MEAN ONE GREAT DEEP THREAT AND VIKES R A 9-7 team
I like Harvin. He is an interesting threat. But he's not an every down guy. He needs to come in when the other team is worn down or they don't expect it.

Ponder..........he was thrown into the worst situation possible. New coach.......no help.....and the whole franchise suffering from a vin rouge hangover from Favre,Moss, and Brad Childress.

Ponder will be fine while rebuilding. But I hope the Vikes are on the lookout for more QB talent. Competition works.

One thing to add. Shank will be a cap casualty this year. He got paid a lot of money and is getting up in age. Just a thought...

Webb will Never replace Ponder if Ponder gets hurt & Webb isnt a true second QB he is a third string QB So Who Should the Vikings bring in to compete with Ponder?

Webb is not a starting NFL QB but to be truthful he ran the offense better than Ponder when he got his chance.

Webb and Ponder and whoever else can compete.

This franchise needs change! TJoke being named starter at any point was a laugh.

Favre was a GOOD short term thing....but...Porter. Eeeesh.

Donovan McDivots? Bad move.

3-13 team. 9-23 last 2 years. 20-28 last 3 years.

ALL positions are open. The staff reallly needs to not get stuck on any existing personnel as permanent.

You can probably name some of the QBs before Aikman for the Cowboys......or before Brady for the Pats......or Elway or
..........you get the idea.

Ponder is a good start, then a veteren QB as a 2nd string backup and finish it off with a project QB in the late rounds of the draft or maybe even an URFA?

Our QB situation would be set for the next season.

True All positions are open The Most Needed position on the Team is the QB Ponder had 11 Games to show what he could do & didnt inprove much I know the Front line was Bad However Ponder was way under 2000 Yards in 11 Games You cant blame the Front line for all of it Ponder would still start the season if the Vikings did get Griffen But the Vikings would have insurance With Griffen & there going to need with Ponder being injury prone

To review: Sidney Rice was the #1 WR but he and his bad hip left for the SeaGals.

Bernard Berrian was the de facto #1 WR until cut.

Camarillo is a KR.Period.

Kleindropper is not a pass catcher.

AP is a wonderful runner but cannot catch or pick up a blitz.

Soooooooooooooo..........I for one cannot put all the blame on Ponder.

Whoever the starter is.....he needs a 3rd down guy, a burner to stretch the field and RBs that can catch.

We need live bodies.

Do you think Webb could step in and become the starter if Ponder goes down?

Not a lot of choice right now!

There have been some amazing QBs on the roster. Brad Johnson, Spurgeon Wynn, Sage Rosenfels, Donovan McDivots, Gus Frerotte, Brooks Bollinger, TJoke, Kelly Holcomb, Jeff George, Warren Moon, Sean Salisbury..........

Webb as a 3rd year man, Ponder in his second year......its as good (or bad) as its been over time.

If they can, they need to draft and/or acquire.

ALL positions are open.

And, according to Spielman, all players except AP are trade bait. I really expect the vikes to trade Allen on draft day. Buffalo is the first choice as they are 10th and are desperate for pass rush help. Jacksonville might take Coples and the rest aren't as good as in past years. I think Buffalo is tired of drafting players that don't perform and will give up a first and at least a second to get a pro bowl player that is great in the locker room. Allen can't help the Vikings get to the playoffs which are 3 or 4 years away and trading him also clears cap room which the team needs to land a quality player like Nicks, Grubbs or Flowers.

I also believe they will trade down from 3 with either Washington or Cleveland. Both would like Blackmon or Richardson. If Washington trades with St. Louis and Cleveland is content to pick whichever top player is available then Seattle or Kansas might want to trade to get the remaining player. If Lynch doesn't resign with Seattle then I fully expect them to trade up to get Richardson. No matter how you slice it we will move down.

Two top 10-15 picks would put us in a position to get a quality player on OL and a receiver. I wouldn't shed a tear over losing Kalil. Best footwork in the draft and athletic but no power in the rushing game and can be beat on a bull rush.

DeCastro would be a good pick around 10 and Wright will be there in the top 15. If for some inexplicable reason we trade out of the top 15 then Mike Adams OT would be a great choice. Really good strength, a non stop motor and gets up field really well. A bit slow but I suspect he could lose 15 pounds and get quicker. If he comes to the combine and posts better than expected 40 times he could go in the top 15. Floyd in the 15-22 range would be a good second choice at WR.

Obviously a lot depends on FA but as everyone knows we need help at almost every position so the draft will be crucial to future success.

and 1 through double 3's and our 4th.
offense
who cares, all offenses are basically worthless.
Even the worse can score 13 pts and we're not the worse by far.Free Agency for receiver and OL.
Defense will score 10 pts a week but not trading Allen.Trading Moss proved how dumb that shit is.
I already named my defensive picks through rd 3 and I'll name them again once FA period blows by and combine. On draft Eve,I'll rehash what I believe reverses our record and it sure as hell won't be offense.Unless they foolishly trade Allen.

Mayock doesn't like your guy, Coples. He does like Brockers, though. Says he's a top 10 pick, likely going at 8 to carolina, if they win the flip.

Maylock will catch up to me.
Looks like Minn. is planning on splitting the draft between offense and defense.Big mistake, they need less on offense and some of that can be had in FA.
Defense is the way this draft should go,at least with 1,2,3,3,4,and 5.It's said to be deep in receiver,so perhaps they can draft there after the 5th and get OL in FA,maybe 1 top receiver.Either way,I would be keeping Allen and the core defense and drafting more core defenders. The key has to be a super defense though,IMO.
The S.B. teams only had a handful of players from 4 years ago, goes to show how fast things change.Allen certainly has at least that many years left in him,so if they draft wisely, and the D reverses our record,he'll be my MVP in our S.B.run.
Maybe I'm expecting way to much or reminiscing but I'm looking for a D the likes of Dooms Day,Fearsome Foursome,Steel Curtain,Purple People Eaters and I believe in this era,you can still deliver a D just like that,or like I said before,"A knock you the F out Defense,
just like we had so many years ago,but better and I think they can use their draft position to do just that.
