I have no problem with Goodell punishing these players to some degree. However, there are players that do much worse on and off the field. Even if we give Goodell the benefit of the doubt and say every accusation is true, these suspensions are over the top. Not one of these players even touched any player alledgedly targeted for injury such as Favre and Warner on the plays they got injured. At the very worst, these guys paid into a pool from which somebody else may have been paid for an injury hit. Goodell has punished players from other teams for illegal hits that did IN FACT injure other players. Sometimes if the offender was a repeat offender Goodell has given a 2 game suspension. How do known cheapshot artists that injure players get less time than players that may have contributed to a bounty pool, a relatively common practice in the NFL?

Besides the ridiculous length of some of the suspensions, Goodell made it very clear before the appeals how he would rule. If he had simply kept his mouth shut, this kind action probably never would have happened.

Appearently one of Anthony Hargroves former teammates said that was not Hargroves voice on the tape, but, the Commish didnt bite on it so the suspention stands until the players sue and who knows if they will win it or not.
SO GPBfan, hows your neighborhood? Hopefully you are still safe and not threatened by the fire.Glad to see your ok ( assuming your ok,since your blogging here) Great to hear from you!

I think Goodell is more unhappy that it got out blackening the image of the NFL. Anyone with any amount of common sense must realize things like that have been going on for some time. Favre didn't make anykind of deal over it? A few of the Saints players said they knew whose voice that was and were trying to encourage him to come forward.

I'm fine. I wasn't in an evacuation area, so for me the fire wasn't much more than a minor irritation due to the smoke. However, it was a tradedgy for quite a few and more than an inconvenience for many. Fortunately, the fire is at least 90% contained now. I'm sure the entire State will be at high risk the rest of the summer though. Hopefully, there aren't any more homes or lives lost.

I don't know if the players win or not either. To me that really isn't the point. I think a lot of this stuff might be avoided if Goodell was more consistent. I think if we had a Commissioner that didn't have these wildly disparate punishments it wouldn't be such a problem and lead to so much litigation. And I'm not just referring to the Saint's situation. IMO Goodell is often issuing fines and suspensions that seem out of proportion to other punishments.

Well he was part of the problem. He made these wildly inflamatory and damaging ACCUSATIONS against these players. He made many people believe he had evidence of those things, but then suspends them for things like "lying" when the lie doesn't even make sense. If you've heard from people, many believe Goodell's findings against them mean MORE than the official offenses of things like lying. Who's fault is that? If Goodell hadn't made it sound worse than the actual evidence supported, then the public wouldn't have this impression of ruthless players.

Well,
I'm really looking forward to Hargrove joining the team for the 2nd half run. He is a real good player and will help us. From what I see, this guy is dedicated to the team and players. He attended all the Packers non-mandatory minicamps.
Sorry for getting off the subject, but I just got done reading an article on Elliot Wolf. He has been a part of the Packers organization since his Dad was here and he was very young. He is really moving up the ladder. I think it said he was appointed to director of pro personal. I think he will be a shoe-in for Thompsons spot one of these days.

Wildly inflamatory and damaging accusations? Hargrove is a low life drug addict. So the 2 other times he got suspending (one for 16 games) was all BS too? The saints were playing dirty and out to mame. They are getting what they deserve. Quit thinking it was some kind of conspiracy, you look like a low life defending other low life's. Sean Payton had low life friends that were going to prison for shady stuff. They were all involved in the saints team activities and this bounty crap. It wasn't some made up crazy shit. Dirty low lifes all over and around that team. They were warned to cut the crap and they kept it going. Do you get that? They were warned and given a chance to stop. But the said "f" you and kept the bounty program going, Sean Payton told the players to lie about the bounty program and they have proof because the players admitted to that.

Who cares if it was his voice or not, he lied about the bounty program and every player on the team knew about it.He is a drug addict and has no credibility.

He is a drug addict??
I believe those boys have to go through a substantial amount of testing before they can join the team for practices. He was at every mini-camp I attended and in good spirits with the players and fans. Odds are you or I aren't as clean as he has been lately. Who cares what has happened in the past. We all have skeletons in our closets. Perhaps you have a #12 Bobblehead in your closet just waiting for a flicker every now and then? "Oh Aaron, shake it big boy", LMAO

My mistake, from the things Goodell has said, I thought Hargrove was being suspended for something to do with some kind of program the Saints had going. I didn't realize he was being suspended because you are upset about his past drug use. Why didn't Goodell just say that?

I notice you did mention some things that Payton did with the alledged "bounty program" that Williams said was a "pay for performance" program. What was Hargrove's involvement? Was he one of the only players to hear Payton tell people to lie? Did he injure anybody? Did he pay money into the pool? If so, how much and for what? If he was deeply involved, I'm sure you can describe his involvement with quite a bit of detail. I can't wait, because other than a claim that he made a nonsensical statement asking for money even though he did nothing to earn it, I've never heard anybody else explain what he did.

Ok, play dumb. Funny how you hung Brandon Marshall when he was falsely accused . Hargrove lost his credibility when he lied about the bounty program.

I see you don't have to play dumb. I knew you couldn't answer any of my questions because you don't know. You lost your credibility when you pretended you knew something about what Hargrove did.

You already failed to describe Hargrove's involvement in any "bounty" or "pay for performance" program. I'll give you a chance to give some information. Mybe you can avoid looking like a complete fool. What was the lie that Hargrove told about the bounty program? Come on, you just said he did this. You must know what that lie was. You merely need to say: "Anthony Hargrove said [insert quote from Anthony Hargove] which was a lie."

Before getting into any lengthy debate with packluv I think it is best to remember all of his past posts of complete nonsense and craziness.

It is FACT packluv wants to see Rodgers “paralysied” which is both sick and nuts and has continuously made idiotic posts time and time again with no true FACTS to back his crazy opinions up. He is wildly psychotic and moronic to be completely fair to him.

He is a cross between Mike Tyson and Skip Bayless at best, perhaps some type of sick love child. At this point it is best to either ignore him or point and laugh, hard to say which is best depending on how you view him as entertainment.
He holds no regard for logic and fact based understanding of the world around him, he is a true Bears fan! Bear down!

See? You can almost hear the heavy panting and twitching in his writing as he goes nuts. I am not sure that this nut job is more excited about the Bears upcoming season or the chance for Rodgers to be paralyzed... either way he it does not change the fact he is a poor excuse for a fan of the sport and as a person in general. Shame! Shame!

Failed again! You couldn't come up with the lie that you say Hargrove made about the program. You're pathetic.

Payton apologized for "it"? What was "it"? And how does "it" prove what Hargrove did? Since Hargrove was a Saint, and he is now a Packer, I'm sure that Cutler is much more likely to be harmed by "it" than Aaron Rodgers! Ha ha!
