Fourth season a critical test for safety Collins
Judging by the first three weeks of organized team activities practices, there's little reason to think Nick Collins is in danger of losing his starting safety job with the Green Bay Packers.

He better be stepping up because he has not really shown anything yet. I say he should be in danger of losing his job to Aaron Rouse who in his 3 starts had two interceptions and the defense posted a shutout against Minnesota

I though Aaron Rouse should have replaced him last year.ROuse is quicker,bigger,faster and just a beter player in my view and im sure he will overtake him this year.
I read earlier that Jared Bush is going to try one of the safety spots. |

That is saying something about Nick Collins if Bush beats him out.
BTW its actually Jarrett Bush, not Jared. Something I learned after a few games of thinking it was Jared Bush. |

Jared is the guy from Subway isnt he? either way i sure hope Bush is a better safety then corner.Its a shame with his speed to go to waste.
You fiqure Atari Bigby has 1 S.spot Rouse should have the other then you have.....Wil Blackmon who is the quickest and most athletic defensive player we have Tramon Williams who is abit small but a great kick returner,so hes in Bush who is to athletic to release but sucks at the corner,so what do we do here? |

Collins had done all right for guy who played linebacker in college. I agree Rouse is a beast and it will be hard to hold him off. Bigby is a menace to opponents--every receiver is learning to find 20. Don't count out Patrick Lee. He's played man for most all of his college career. He'll learn our scheme and fit right in. He was a very shrewd pick. Bush working at safety? He could be a decent Sharper-type in nickel and dime schemes. Interesting idea...

He hasnt been that good at corner,so why not try him at safety.Hes fast athletic ect,so why not.
I fotgot about Patrick Lee,so appearently if everyone has inproved and gotten in better shape in the offseason,watched films and will be better with a year under thier belts like Atari Bigby,who wasnt that good the first few games but played tremendously in the playoffs and now we should get a strong year from him. |

we will end up cutting a good secondary player,or at least trade 1 or 2 of them and we could build depth somewhere because of that trade or get a midround pick and trade down and turn it into 2 picks if all goes well.TT is so good at drafting,we can keep the salery cap low and still be a great team,and the smallest market in sports is stockpiling money for the 1 season ( 2010) with no cap,before the owners lock the players out for the 2011 season.
