The Lions as the 6th seed are somewhere just over or under being in the top 1/3 of NFL teams. Then they were beaten handily in their first playoff game. It depends on how a person looks at it. The Lions are much closer than they have been in many, many years. However, they are a LONG way from winning a Super Bowl. Since the Packers beat them twice, it would be nice to tell myself that the Lions are close, but the evidence says otherwise. There are a lot of "ifs" that can change things, but many teams can improve "if" certain things happen.
