The Benglas lost Chris Henry for the season and they have no depth at RB. I think they'll finish 10-6 which might be good enough for a wildcard but beyond that they're toast.

I see you corrected your mistakes that I read in my newspaper this morning. The Bengals won against the Bears 45-10 (not 35-10) and the game was played in Cincinnati, not Chicago. Making mistakes on easy facts known by even the most casual fan discredits your other points made in your commentary. Your journalism should be better then this - it is your profession.

Just out of curiosity, how do you see them going 10-6? I am not trying to be snarky, I am just wondering if you have actually looked at the Bengals remaining schedule. The remaining schedule is as follows:

@ Steelers
@ Oakland
Cleveland
Detroit
@ Vikings
@ San Diego
Kansas City
@ Jets.

Anything can happen but I don't see us losing to Oakland, Cleveland, Detroit or Chiefs but okay fine, I will give you one fluke loss out of those 4. Now, that makes us 9 and 3. So that leaves the Steelers, Vikings, San Diego and Jets. You predicted 10-6? Do you really think we will only take 1 of those remaining 4? Remember, I am giving the Bengals one loss to a bad team already, do you really think they cant at LEAST split the remaining 4 games to the average to above average teams. I think the WORST we do is 12-4 this year but have a legitimate chance for 13-3. As for the playoffs, anything can happen in the playoffs. We dont have any real playoff experience so I make no playoff predictions. But oh how nice it will be to watch some extra games this year! Go Bengals!

No kidding...what the heck? Any casual fan begins reading this column and automatically sees this guy has the Bears game score as 35-10 and it was 45-10. And he has it in Chicago and it was in Cincinnati. How does something like this get overlooked and get printed in the paper?
Because it's the COLUMBUS DISGRACE the worst paper in Ohio

I see a 4-4 finish. Chris Henry is out. That is going to put pressure on the rest of the offense. I fingure teams are going to hit the film and identify ways to slow down the run in the second half. You also have five road games in the second half.

The four losses I see will come at the hands of Pittsburgh, Oakland, Minnesota and the Jets.

Yes, Oakland is terrible but that's a road game right after playing Pittsburgh. I think it's one of those gotcha games. The Bengals will rebound nicely and beat Cleveland and Detroit handily but will lose a close game to Minnesota on the road. I'm predicting a loss to the Jets because the Benegals don't have a lot of depth at the RB position and I think Cedric Benson will fizzle after 13 games.

Chris Henry had injury problems at the beginning of the year and overall has only been in about 60% of the snaps this year. While he was most certainly a deep threat when he was in there, his loss is not as bad as you claim. The Bengals have fine depth at WR.

And if you don't think we have depth at running back, you have not been watching the games and seeing the effort by Brian Leonard and Bernard Scott. We have more depth at our skill positions than we have had in years. Can't wait for this Sunday. Win or lose, it should be a hell of a game.

10-6 isn't a bad finish. Five road games including stops at Pittsburgh, at Minnesota and at San Diego makes it tough to have as strong a second half as you did a first half.

I'm right there with you bleeding black and orange, and losing Henry certainly isn't a crippling blow, but you're kidding yourself if you think Simpson or Purify can replace him. Likewise at running back, Scott and Leonard are valid options but Marvin (and Bratkoski) need to start using them more before Benson turns into Jamal Lewis on us and comes up lame. You could see even at the end of the Ravens game he had lost something. 30+ carries a game will have him in a wheelchair by December.

Well, based on 2009 win-loss records so far, through the first 8 games of this season we had the 3rd hardest schedule. Thru the final 8 games, we have the 30th hardest schedule. I know stats can be misleading but come on, thats pretty significant. So lets just agree to disagree. And in the AFC this year, 10-6 might not even secure the wildcard.

I agree wit you Are You Serious, they will burn Benson out if they keep at it. Keep him fresh by bringing in the other guys more often.

Do you remember this? "September 29, 2009...Carson Palmer 's 4-yard touchdown pass to Andre Caldwell with 14 seconds left provided a 23-20 win..."

Just wondering..:)
