This was really interesting, WTF is going on with this team?? |

Its clear Otis: there is a whining pouting cancerous punk taking snaps for the team. What he lacks in brains he thinks he makes up for with a "rocket arm." Bears fans and the media were calling him a "Franchise Quarterback." More like "Disenfranchise Brokeback Quarterback." I think that sums it up

Well, besides that! What I mean is, why is there such a long history of injured Bears who get cut and then rehabilitate & find success on other teams? This article neglected to mention Cedric Benson and a few others. If Grossman finds his way back to a starter's position and does well, I'd think some red flags would be raised! My own theory is that many players know this team is a dead-end career choice, and exaggerate injuries to try and get cut. Benson probably did this in 2005, capped off with sitting out the Super Bowl. I guess it worked for him, judging by his performance vs. the Bears. |

thats to far fetched of a conspiracy theory.
and does not add up on many levels. most of the hype is smoke and mirrors long with a nice dose of luck |

It works in Benson's case, the guy made a pile of cash when he held out & he never seemed to be interested in playing football for the Bears. Getting drunk etc. was his way of trying to get out of his contract. I think he figured that if he played again, fine, he'd make more money, or if not, that's fine too, he was set for life thanks to the Bears. His second life with Cincy really makes me think about what goes on in the guy's mind. For whatever reason, it appears that the Bears give up too early on injured players who could be re-habbed. Then again, they stayed with Dusty until he finally flamed out, and Tommie Harris....I just don't know, Dimz. This is an odd team. I'm really focused on coaching. |

i just find it diffcult to believe how you originally put it, that pro football player like benson, would hold out, get arrested multiple times, underachieve, bench himself in the biggest game (he will most likely play -superbowl) along with ruining his value as RB all as diabolical plan that he can get cut and "hopefully" get picked up by another NFL team so he can start over.
Boy...if things in the NFL really do work like that then it is the greatest show on earth lol Dont get me wrong though i do think the Bears have made several SNAFU's in there talent evaulation, but you cant blame them for getting rid of the likes of Benson |

Yeah, doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but what is the obverse? That the Bears cannot properly ascertain talent, judge the extent of injuries, and give up on guys too early? In the NFL, there is always a second chance for some criminal player! Hell, Briggs gets drunk & busts up a $500,000 car, walks away....so what? Bears kept Tank Johnson on long after his many arrests because they needed him for the Super Bowl, etc. etc. If a player works the league with his agent, passes a physical, and says/does the right thing, I think he always has a shot! Hell, Plaxico would have a gig if he weren't in leg irons, and you know I'm right! So, what truly goes on behind closed doors? It's all big entertainment, I don't put much credence on the "professional" side of sports any longer. Bears let a lot of guys go due to injury that we could be using....Mark Bradley and Mike Brown come to mind right away. We'll see, I expect the Browns to play a LOT tougher than folks give them credit for, and wouldn't bet the house on a Bears victory just yet. Happy Halloween from Scary, Depressed Otis!!! |

I think the whole history of injury issue is nonsense. If you look at Bradley sure he was always banged up and Im glad hes doing better now. The Bears also drafted Currie that year and that guy was always hurt and now hes oput of the league. And then we had Bernard Berrian who was also always hurt and still misses games now that he's gone. Rex Tucker is usually hurt also.
Then we get into the whole Mike Brown , Dusty Dvoracek , Marc Columbo area. I believe that Columbo was at the end of his contract and he still wasnt 100%. The Cowboys took a chance and it worked out. I dont know if you remember his knee injury but that was by far one of the worst injuries I remember seeing. Only Joe Theismans looked worse. I am amazed he is able to play. Not to mention run! Mike Brown played the majority of last season if I remember correctly and that was more of a money issue (go figure). As far as Dusty goes...who knows , the guy has never had a history of anything other than being injured. Marcus Robinson always sat out unless he was 100%. Vasher is healthy but he kinda sucks. These guys have to write the articles whether htey have any merit or not. |

Man, I'm telling you, it appears that Bears players are trying to leap off of this sinking ship! Why the hell else would their total team effort collapse so badly?? Historically actually!! According to Morrisey: "For the second time in three weeks, the Bears gave up 31 points in the first half. Do you know how many times the Bears had given up 31 or more points in an opening half before the Oct. 25 Bengals game? Five. Five times since 1920." I'm not saying they are faking injuries, but jeez, WTF? Tommie Harris especially! I think they hate the coaches as much as we fans do! Can't blame em. |

All I know is that Angelo and Lovie and company have got to go!!! But we know our Bears dont we...That will not happen because it will cost the Bears money to fire these bums. |

How do you like me now fellas? All you needed was a franchise QB to show you how crappy the team really is

In other news Cedric Benson has scored a TD in 4 consecutive games.

Just watch...if there is one thing that the McCaskey family appreciates, it is team history!! I was really riled by this: "For the second time in three weeks, the Bears gave up 31 points in the first half. Do you know how many times the Bears had given up 31 or more points in an opening half before the Oct. 25 Bengals game? Five. Five times since 1920." It's a long shot, but this type of national embarrassment (high school teams play on Fridays wisecracks) must really rile Virginia, so maybe they'll do the dirty work for us? Hell, I'd rather have Virginia McCaskey as head coach about now! She could make Michael the defensive coordinator and he'd probably be better than Lovie! |

Yeah, these mopes actually think the Bears still have a chance!! http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2009/11/... Ugh!! I tried to get into Denver vs. Pittsburgh, but Kyle was destroyed, tossing many interceptions. Pittsburgh sure knows how to tackle! It was a clinic on how to bury a player into the field. Any Bears noticing? Oh yeah, they have Mendenhall.....I wanted him in a Bears jersey! Grrr!! He didn't look half-bad. |

i think the Bears REFUSING to double up Fitzgerald pretty much sums up this seasons team and coaching staff.
not much else to say. |

Broncos vs. Steeler sure demonstrated what great ball defense can do, they really covered the WR well! The QBs had their work cut out for them, and no wonder there were so many INT in that game. Bears don't have anyone of that caliber right now. Not likely too either, having traded away all our draft picks (or used them up already). It looks mighty grim, my prediction for the season record keeps on heading downward. Players are starting to check out, mentally and emotionally. Remember when Benson sat out the Super Bowl because he was worried that further injury would hurt his career going forward? We are seeing that en masse on this team. Why exert yourself and get a lacerated kidney/career-threatening knee or back injury with NO hope for post-season success? Cutler must be PISSED!!! |

1 my opinion still is that Orton is not a QB that can push Denver over the edge into a superbowl win(the broncos defense however could win a playoff game easily)...he is not a game changer or play maker. And that is a hard opinion to sell seeing as Cutler isnt lighting it up. If anything Cutler proved to the Bears that Orton-Grossman werent entirely at fault for all of there performance issues. Ok you all can go ahead and crucify me now lol |

No way, dude, I'm with you on this one! Orton is who we said he was....an adequate (barely) NFL QB who can hash it out to a lot of wins, but won't go all the way unless he has a No. 1 team around him. Denver is showing they ain't that team. However, the wins against SD and NE were pretty convincing, as were the Bears win against Pittsburgh. That is what is so frustrating for me, I see the potential of the Bears, BUT they don't follow through!! Cutler's pass to Hester vs. Steelers was lovely, and the TD passes to Olsen were slick. Let's work on that stuff! Hopefully, the Wolfe-on-offense experiment is over. Considering the upcoming schedule, I'm just not very optimistic....seems to me that the players share that feeling & are just calling in their appearances on game day. I wouldn't risk my knees for this season, would you? |

nope, i value my last good knee (cubs circa 1984 damaged it, and cubs circa 2003 destroyed it)
8 games to go....i think think they will win 4. course, if they lose to SF this thursday you can throw that out the window. i do predict they will win that one though. |
