Jan Stenerud isn't the only placekicker in the NFL Hall of Fame. Also enshrined in Canton is former Cleveland Browns kicker Lou (The Toe) Groza. Seems like the writer needs to be more careful in his research.(Stenerud, however, is the only placekicking "specialist" in the hall, so far.)

As far as Jason Elam goes, I would say that his career longevity and his record 63 yard FG makes him a strong candidate for HOF membership.

Quite possibly the greatest football player to come from UH.

Talented, humble and classy guy. Elam always showed his appreciation to the fans no matter where he played.
He said little and let his foot do the talking, and it spoke volumes in field goals.
Best of luck to Jason as his pro career begins to wind down. HOF here he comes!

I still remember him kicking for the UH. Great guy, and funny that he never knew Hawaii had a football team. He'll probably end up being the best player UH football produced.

Thanks, Jason, for all the great memories from your UH days ... and for representing the Rainbows so well on the larger professional stage.

Your good sportsmanship has made you an excellent role model, and it's been a joy to see you have a long, wonderful career!

You, Anthony Carter and other UH alums continue to make us proud -- not only on the field or court, but off it, as well. Malama pono.

Every time Jason Elam is identified as a former UH Warrior on NFL telecasts, I can't help but think he gives the university of Hawaii a shot in the arm. Keep going, Jason, you're still young at 40, and why not continue to harness big time NFL income, the owners make big bucks and so should you.

I remember watching him boot those incredible kicks in Aloha Stadium in the days long past exclaiming "he's gonna be a real big name in the NFL". The curtain's not coming down yet for Jason and I believe there's more still to come. same holds true for Colt who I know will be a big name in the NFL in his own time and make all of us proud!

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Gemini

It's easy to become distracted and confused because your mind is wandering about in all sorts of different directions. You're also in a highly impressionable state so will believe almost anything you're told now, whether it's true or a total flight of fancy. Be wary of muddling others by only telling them half the story or letting your imagination fill in any gaps.
