Why John Skelton, Not Kevin Kolb, Will Be Arizona Cardinals' Starting QB in 2012

Earlier this offseason, the Arizona Cardinals tried to get Peyton Manning to be their quarterback in 2012.

If Skelton wins the QB battle by even inches- in the minds of the Cardinal coaches- he no doubt should be the starter.

Dumbest thing I've heard in sports is the saying 'they have to play him because they spent the money on him'. True, you don't like forking out the bucks for a benchwarmer but that is life. Pay a guy 5 million a year and another guy at the position 500,000- what you've done is pay 5,500,000 for the position. Whoever starts, atleast for that very year, is meaningless when winning is the primary goal.

Dumb would be playing the second best player AND paying him all the money AND losing because of it.
That is outright stupid.

Now if its clear that the player who makes less owns the other guy, then it makes sense after the season to look at alternatives for the grossly overpaid clipboard holder
