10. I know the Bears are flying under the radar as a legitimate Super Bowl team and are going to be the talk of the league by late October.

Mike Brown was a great guy, unfortunately keeping him got you five games and cost a year of developing a younger player. They experimented with that enough.

Thank you, my point exactly. Mike was a great teamate and player and if he had stayed healthy he would have been one of the best safeties we've ever had. But he didn't and we couldn't rely on him for a whole season. He wll be missed and he will make one hellva coach someday. Good luck Mike!

Same thing on every post for every team...the coach is bad, some washed up player is the answer to all the problems... The Bears are well coached, well managed and stocked with young talent. Urlacher is still a top 5 MLB. Smith calling the defense will make the D better as will Marinelli. Cutler will make everyone on the offense better.

If the Bears can keep injuries to a minimum and the right chemistry develops, they will be a very interesting team to watch. Cutler cannot have the belief that he has to win the games.

You guys make me sick. It's the same flippin thing every time; Brown is great, Urlacher sucks, Lovie is the worst coach ever, the cover-2 is useless. Shut up!!!! Brown hasn't played a full season in the last 4 years. What good is leadership when he can't suit up. If Graham can't grow into the position than the draft will be the answer. The position will be a lot deeper next year than it was this year. Urlacher is the prototypical Mike back for the cover-2. Yes The LB were misused last year as a whole. But with better coaching and play calling they will improve this year. Plus 54 looks to be in great shape, better than I've seen in the last 3 years. The cover-2 has been around for 40 years and it is still a good defense.
That cover 2 really worked well in the Atlanta loss last year didnt it?? the Falcone needed to gain about 22 yards on that last pass and the defensive back obliged them nicely by dropping 25 yards and letting the receiver get just enough yards to put them in field goal range. sounds like a good plan...lets keep it

That wad a blown assignment and is not the systems fault. Learn the game before you comment. Also if my memory serves me correctly it was our 3rd stringer who screwed the pooch on that one. Plus one play doesn't make or break a system. If Ryan didn't have all day to throw that pass it never woulda worked. Neither one is the systems fault now shut the fuhq up and BEAR DOWN!

I think Lovie is a good Mon-Sat coach but sometimes he seems a little off on Sundays; still I think overall he is pretty good. I just hope the Defense will be better this year; hopefully the Offense will be better too. Looking forward to this season!

Man, if Ditka was still there, this whole Plaxico thing wouldn't have happened. Haha that whole thing still cracks me up. I'll ask Ditka himself when I see him in the Bahamas in Sept. But I can't wait to see what happens next season!

Maybe it's "that guy" that is washed up.
There was no issue with Urlacher until Lovie fired Ron Rivera. Me thinks ...when Lovie is finally fired at the end of this season and replaced by Ron Rivera, that Urlacher will be played to his strengths again instead of playing to make Lovie's Cover-2 to work...you know...the defensive coverage that looks like prevent defense, that tires out the defense by the 4th quarter, that every team in the league has figured out how to play against...and that the creators of the cover-2, Tampa, has dropped from their defensive scheme starting this year because of all of the above.
Val- you just hit the nail right on the head, dead center! This is Lovie's last chance with this cover 2 junk. If it doesn't work He's fired! Bear Down!

Harrison at nose tackle? I thought he was mainly an under tackle and would battle it out with Harris for a starting position. Is he big enough to take on double teams? I hope this isn't another of Lovie Smith's hair brained ideas, where according to him "size dosen't matter," as if he can change the basic laws of physics in order to suit his style of defense.

Getting rid of Brown, instead of paying him a measly $900,000 could end up being another stupid move by the Bears. I could totally understand if they had someone remotely close to step in and take over but they dont.
With that being said I hope Brown has a healthy and productive year with KC. I would like to see the Bears go after him at some point, after Brown hangs his cleats up, and put him in as the defensive backs coach.
Guys, guys. Mike Brown was a strong safety, not a free safety. He only played free toward the end of his Bear career because the coaches figured out that he was getting hurt playing in the box or just too close to the line of scrimmage. When he convinced them to move him back to strong safety near the end of last season, he got hurt again.

I love Mike Brown as much as anyone and thought he should have been kept on as a backup player/coach, but his constant leg injuries over the past several seasons led the Bears to believe they couldn't count on him, so they let him go. It wasn't about money.

If the Bears are so confident in Williams and this is something they have been saying for a long time how come Nick Roach and Hunter Hillenmeyer where competing for the strong side job and how come they brought in another guy to play the Strong side this year?

As for Bowman he has a world of talent but one of the worst injury records you will see with a young player.

The Bears think Harris is going to be dominant? Tommie god love him couldn't even make it all the way through a non-contact OTA. Thats not a slam thats the truth. If he cannot make it through one full day of OTA's how is he going to make it through 1 game. The guy is in his mid 20's and his body is breaking down like a 50 year olds. Sorry, Harrison has a shot to be good but Harris is just another Corey Simon. Lots of talent and lots of leg injuries. He will be a part time player by the end of the year. Actually he was a part time player last year. If Dusty had not gotten hurt Harris would have taken the fewest snaps among the starters. The Bears first pick in this years draft is a guy they hope will replace him in 2 years. The Bears like to talk a big game with Harris but their actions speak louder than their words.

1)No pass rush, no hope.
2)Now we'll see if it's all about the QB.
3)Will Forte be even better this time?
4)Is Olsen the real deal?
5)Hester is the key.
6)Cutler to Bennett...hmmm.
7)O-line.
8)How soon can the rookie WR's help?
9)Can the coaches make adjustments?
10)Is it September yet?

The squib kick was the right call in that situation, to run those last seconds off the clock. The problem was Gould made a bad kick & only got it to the 35 yard line! A average Squib kick gets it to the 20 yard line a real good kick goes to the 10-15 yard line. A good average kick there, would have been enough to allow the clock to run out before they score. Robbie Gould has flown under the radar on this. Because Lovie haters want to blame him for the call. The Players have to execute the plays,Lovie doesnt kick-off for the Bears,Gould does! Many of you like 101 years dont know football, you are media Roadies and fair weather fans! GO BEARS!!

Hello, you are so right!! I just laugh at all the trash talk towards the Bears this year. These are worried and jealous fans, and they should be! The Bears will represent the NFC in the Superbowl vs the Steelers!! All the talk about the Vikes is comical,as they have lost more than they gained. The Bears absolutely dominated them in the offseason. The Bears barely lost the Div by 1 game and we gave 3 of them away in the last minute, that would have put us at 12-4. If the Williamses didnt cheat out of their suspensions, the Vikes dont win the Div last year. The Bears are going to excel in all 3 phases next year, offense, defense & special teams! The Bears will win the Div at 12-4. The Packers improve to 8-8 or 9-7,but are adjusting to a new scheme. The Vikes fall back to 8-8 this year, they are being overrated & overlooked at their weaknesses! Their window closed last year. Childress is not liked and will be gone after this year,he is trying to save his buttt. Favre will divide the locker room as players dont want the circus, they are committed to their own players. Even with Favre at his age, lack of conditioning, lack of rapport with the players and coming off surgery to his throwing arm, still makes their Q.B options mediocre!! Their receivers are bad,Berrian is only a deep threat, doesnt block, fears contact. Harvin is an unproven rookie dopehead, struggling with the mental part?? He fails a combine test? He cant quit obviously and will get suspended & caught, they are watching him after the combine. Losing Birk was huge as an anchor on their o-line. Plus losing Sharper to an already weak secondary. The Williamses suspensions are coming and their special teams are still real bad. The Vikes will have problems this year and will Not make the playoffs. The Pack could possibly get a wild card at 9-7?? The Lions improve to 5-11 and will win at least 1 vs the Vikes. Take care, god bless. GO BEARS,2009 DIVISION CHAMPIONS!!

The cover 2 isn't you're problem. The problem is your D Coordinator SUCKS. Bob Babich was the worst coach in NDSU Bison history and the only reason he got hired by the Bears is because he is Lovie's butt buddy. There is a reason why Lovie's calling the plays this year. Babich is awful.

How quickly we forget that AD OWNS the bears. You're whole post is laughable. The Vikings WILL sweep you on their way to another division title.
