But in all honesty those HS kids seemed to put more of their souls into it than the professionals do because it really is more than a job to them. I was quite impressed with these young kids during the time I spent watching them.
Somehow when a young, talented person becomes a pro in their athletic field, they lose the spark they had when they weren't getting paid. They have to work harder but they're doing it now for the money instead of the pleasure of the game. For this reason I've always enjoyed the HS games more than the pro games. The HS kids have more soul.
