Vick has the LOWEST passer rating in the history of the NFL , for a QB with 25 + starts he is a HORRIBLE QB....
You may want to re-check your stats.....or at least know what you're talking about. I would be willing to bet that his numbers are better than a lot of guys playing today. Grossman and Orton come to mind ...and any QB in Minnesota.

As far as your breakdown of how his speed may not be a factor anymore..You couldn't be more wrong. Ever hear of the wildcat formation? Thats specifically why teams would want him! He rushed for over 1,000 yards in a season , AS A QB!!!! Pull your head out kid!

He got exactly what he deserved and we should all realize he is able to learn from it and after serving his time we should allow him to lead his life somewhere else.
I dont think it is in the NFL's best interest to allow him back into the league (didn't think pacman was either) AND I don't think Vick would be capable to return to the player he once was. I wasn't really that impressed with him before all this happened. the NFL should just ban him for life and be done with it. Not sure why they havn't, maybe because any publicity is good publicity, I tend to disagree in this case.

No but going from poor to rich to poor again caould probably have a big affect.
You may see it as (just a game) but I must ask have you ever been involved in a football practice or game??? The practices are very tiring and it is alot of hard physical work so to refer to it as just a game is just wrong.
Well he's not curing cancer. Yes to me, it's a GAME.

But you believed everything the media reported about MV???
The comparison you are making has no merit. First, no a child molester should not be allowed to work with or around children as children were victims of the crime but they should be allowed to pursue any other career, just as MV should not be allowed to work with or around dogs. But what does football have to do with dogs???
The media reports on Vick were from court documents.

So, you're saying that a child molester coming out of prison is
cured, correct?

I've watched the HS kids work out when my son played football. Those guys had it tough if they wanted to play. But they did it for FREE because they LOVED it. They didn't consider it a job....they considered it a priviledge and were happy just to be part of that team.

Barb I think you took this the wrong way!!! The point I was trying to make was that it is more than "Just a Game" or a job for that matter.
The physicality involved in football is very rough. Emotionally Mentally and Physically!!!!

My statement had nothing to do with her thought on MV it had to do with her thinking of football as "Just A Game"

Just another thought I had that I thought I would ask. Here goes

If you think of football as "Just A Game" then what is the big deal of MV returning to "Just A Game"????

But any employer has the right to a background check and also reserves the right not to employ that person..alot of corporations do not employ ex convicts who have been convicted of a felony...it is his right to pursue a job but that does not mean that just because he did time that its his right to return to the nfl...I know I would not be given my job back if i was convicted of a felony and had to do time at a federal prison.

Nah, I didn't take you wrong Steel. I know it's more than just a game. But in all honesty those HS kids seemed to put more of their souls into it than the professionals do because it really is more than a job to them. I was quite impressed with these young kids during the time I spent watching them.
Somehow when a young, talented person becomes a pro in their athletic field, they lose the spark they had when they weren't getting paid. They have to work harder but they're doing it now for the money instead of the pleasure of the game. For this reason I've always enjoyed the HS games more than the pro games. The HS kids have more soul.

Yes you are correct in this post and I can't argue with it. I'm not saying that he has a right to return to the NFL, only the right to pursue. Now if Goodell decides to reinstate MV he has excersized his right as an employer.

This is an excellent post Barb!!! I have to totally agree with you on this. The one game that I really love to watch is the Little League World Series. I can't stand to watch pro baseball with all the doping and everything but the Little League World Series is probably the most entertaining sport for me to watch. The passion these children show is just incredible. The talent level is unbelievable for their ages. I sure wish I had that much skill at that age. LOL!!!

I think he is seeking it but we don't want Goodell to let him have it.
