Sad article. Sad because Davis didn't evolve with the game, but I don't think he tarnished the teams legacy. He put the best product he could on the field, made some great pics and some awful ones....but thats business. What sickens me is the half cocked comment "Davis thought he new more than everyone else about football" I take issue with that comment for a couple reasons. First, ask most any player or coach that spent any time with Davis and almost all seemed to be in awe of if his knowledge in football. Calling plays of opposing teams just before they ran them. He was a football genius.
Second, why would you own a team, win 3superbowls and NOT believe you knew more than the rest. You are in the wrong business if you don't believe 1000% in what you are doing.
On to Dallas...I never liked Jerry Jones but I respect what he did. He too is takibg the wrap for earky success.

Jerry Jones proved what an idiot he was when he fired a head coach that won back to back superbowls. That Dallas team of the early 90s was one of the best teams ever built, but Jimmy Johnson was a big reason for their success. Good for Barry Switzer for winning a superbowl two years later, but this was Jimmy's team.

I love al davis! and I have nothing against jerry jones or any other owner. I sarcasticly talk crap about other teamowners, teams and players but they all work hard and make great good and bad decisions. I mean, who are we to criticize thse owners of football teams from our couch at home? yea, I can talk crap about j jones, cause thats the fun of football talk, but in reality, I respect them all.

I wish Jerry would hire a general manager and leave the team to the coaching staff. Just run the day to day buisness of the Cowboys.

Al Davis made the Radiers into champions. Later on he didf not adapt and much later on he frankly went senile. But tarnish their image? Heck, he built their image.

Jerry Jones would've been great if he knew half of what he thought he knew. Firing JJ was the single dumbest move ever by an owner.
