You know that he was never clinically diagnosed. No way of proving his actions were anything more than a misguided desire to fit in with the people he grew up with.
At what point do you let go of the armchair diagnosis of him being a sociopath ? It's been, what, 5 years since he hurt an animal ? I would assume if he's as bad as you think, he'd be requiring extensive and ongoing therapy (and possibly meds) to control this. You should know about that.
