If you also want to band together and pay for a Vikings stadium yourselves, fine. Otherwise, no more tax dollars for stadiums and the billionaire team owners who want them.

I didn't see you guys complain about the twins new stadium! How about that? Where's all your companions, when it comes to the TWINS?? But when it came to the Vikings new stadium, all you guys do is just whine and complain. So what if we have to pay tax dollars to help build a new stadium, we've been paying tax for our whole life, whats soo wrong if we pay a little more tax to build the Vikes a new stadium. And also they approved the Twins new stadium deal, why not the Vikings?? Tell me that, and don't give me any BS saying the Twins won a world series, while the Vikings haven't won anything. It all comes down to who gives us the most excitement, and clearly its the Vikings.

Wilf is still trying to seek assistance for this endeavor, which is not uncommon. The Vikings will cease to exist here in Minnesota if the sixty-five million metrodome isn't replaced in the not to distant future. The Vikings are a state treasure, and should be treated as such. It needs to get done.

Unfortunately, the people of Minnesota voted for some artsy fartsy bill last year. I've purchased items in some areas and it looks like the sales tax has elevated to 7.125%.

There needs to be progress (this year) on resolving the stadium issue, as the Vikings will not renew their lease on the "Metrodump".

Creative financing needs to happen, as the sales tax is at it's limit....

Simply stated, "No stadium, no NFL franchise"...and when they're gone, it will be forever!

With the way Roger Goodell is having problems with Minnesota, he'll be encouraging the team to move to LA, even though Jacksonville is in a pathetic market with constant local blackouts.

The LA move will actually happen next year. The Vikings will buy out their lease, and play in the Rose Bowl until the new facility is constructed.

A pro team, in this case the vikings. A winning team, a good quarterback. Once againg the vikings!
A new stadium for the Vikings? Oh no, that costs too much. We all want, wnat, want, but no one wants to give, give, give. I am not a Packer fan, but if you want to see years and years of loyalty to a franchise, look no further than Green Bay. I would think the Twin Cities, probably population of over a million could support a new stadium for the vikings. I think the long term investment would be quite rewarding. If Green Bay, appx. 250,000 pop.can support their Packer team for all these years, then I would think the Twin Cities could help support the vikings. How about a state lottery with all proceeds going towards the stadium?

This poster has some common sense unlike the yokalls that think the citizens of Minnesota can dole out more money. The tax is 7 1/2% now as stated previously. The citizens of the Iron Range are desolate. It is sad in this time in the US the posters in here think it is more important to have a new stadium when the folks of Minnesota cannot afford it. You do have a millionare owner that wants to give only 250 million. Get real. He probably keeps that amount in his watch pocket. This yahoo wants both the cake and the pie. Does your owner live and pay taxes in Minnesota? Time for the bake sales to start maybe that way you could get a couple of dollars.

One season does not make a franchise. Look back on the previous Vikings seasons and tell me one thing what have they accomplished other than lose 4 superbowls.

The difference between the Vikings and Packers, the Packers rebuilt through the years. I am sure people in other parts of your state will be in favor of a lottery - NOT. What is in it for them? There is a waiting list for Season Packer Tickets. Minnesota last year had a hard time filling their stadium. The Packers have a history that no other NFL team has and that is why the citizens of Wisconsin support the Packers.

No public money for any pro sports. Welfare for billionaires and their rube fans is ridiculous. Let them pay for their own leisure and hobbies or get out. Sports is a luxury not a necessity. No wonder our state and country is in so much trouble, all the leeches are sucking taxpayers dry.

Dude the majority of the Green Gay Pack season ticket holders sell their tickets to losers who pay high prices for the garbage Green Gay puts on the field ! So actually they are secondary sellers the waiting list is for crooks wanting to buy them so they can rip off the folks of WISC ... So do not read to muxh into the Green Gay B.S.

The thing is they don't have too! Another state will gladly take a wining football team off our hands and give them whatever they want... how ever just like with hockey, someday were going to want a football team again! So we can buy them a stadium now or we can pay twice as much in 10 years building one to draw-in a new team. Also by losing the Vikes the area around the Dome is going to start looking like a cold Detroit!!

Exactly, which is why all the liberals are slobbering to rape the taxpayers to fund more waste. The media and the Democrat party need the public to pay for un-profitable ventures like this to distract the rubes from their other socialist programs. Screw the government football team, it's another example of waste fraud and abuse.

There is absolutely no economical reason to keep the Vikings. At least be honest in this discussion.

Actually as far as tax revenue goes the Vikings have already paid for the Metrodish with just the tax dollars they've generated not including the Twins money. If we give the Vikings a stadium they will end up paying for it all in the end through generated taxes so to say that the citizens of this state will end up getting stuck with the bill is ludicris. 400 million in bonds to get it going is not something we'll have to just spend upfront, it'll be paid back over 30 years. I think the citizens of this state can afford that rather than the loss of generated revenue and taxes that the new stdium will bring. Besides will someone explain to me what it is that the Twins do that the Vikings don't that is worth a stadium for them? They haven't been to the world series in 18 years!!!!!!

Hey Moe...they win big games and are a quality team. They have not had any dirty scandals either.
