Time for Bears to start playing for keeps

To nobody's surprise, the Bears think too much has been made of the way they impersonated a 4-12 football team Saturday night in Seattle.

You couldn't have wrote that any better than that Dave. Obviously, you noticed what we were seeing. Don't get us wrong; we love our bears, were just tired of lameduck QB's, one year wonder running backs, and wide receivers that are mediocre at best. Yesterday, the cable sports networks have started the insults about chicago, referring to the offense as putrid, inept, and why have a qb derby when there's no offense. Nice article Dave, let's hope Angelo, Smith, and Turner read it. The nation will watch tonight and these men better realize that if this turns in a poor offensive showing, we'll have to pull out the paper bags. Talk shows will be ranting and we will talked down bad on a national level. Good luck chicago! Go Bears!!

I've been with this team during good & bad seasons & this article hits it right on the dot. The Bears don't need to run the "One City. One Team" campaign to regain trust in the team. They need to win! Not just win with defense or special teams, but win with some offense so I can wear my jersey with my head up high in Texas. For once I want to check the free agents in my fantasy football team & not see the whole Bears offense available.

It's time we got wise as a fan base & nueter the bears of their merchandise & ticket funds. We can complain, but unless we show action of boycotting an inferior product, nothing will change. It really blows to have so much pride in a team only to have a garbage product seen every Sunday. I wish they would save us the embarassment of putting us on national TV when the networks know we stink. The Bears are a laughing stock & they make hard to be a fan.

The offense had better start showing some life or come December there will be a lot of emty seats at Soldier Field and the McCaskey's will have to eat a few contracts (Jerrey Angelo's, Lovie Smith's) just to name a two.

I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see the offense scoring more than 13 points a game. Especially with Orton as the QB!

David made some good points. But honestly, I don't think it really matters that much whether or not they play well tonight. From what I've been reading on here, Orton (and the rest of the offense for that matter) is in a catch 22. If they play well, some of you "Bears Fans" will come back on here tomorrow morning and claim they only did well because the 49ers suck. And if we suck, you all will swear that they made a huge mistake naming Orton as the starting QB. And then you will start calling for Rex. And when he sucks you'll start calling for Hanie.

Basically, it's a vicious cycle. You all have to come to grips with the fact that the McClaskey's and the Bears management are a cheap group of people. They are not the type to go out and spend money for a big name anything. And when they do try and go for the big name (i. e. Musin Muhammad), they over pay them and they come here and suck. Some of you need to quit whining and just enjoy the game and try to see the good in the bad. Or move to New England.

CHICAGO BEARS 2008 NFC NORTH CHAMPIONS!!!!
GO BEARS!!!!!

Great article David. Any time Lovie opens his mouth at this point, he might as well be saying “blah, blah, blah blah blah. Because that’s what I hear. That man has shown himself to be so void of a personality that it is mind boggling. Grow a sack, and say something that actually has some meaning Lovie. However, as one poster suggested, I will not ever wear a bag on my head because of the Bears organizations ineptitude. I will suggest this- when things play out the way we are all expecting, mail that bag to Halas Hall, attention Jerry Angelo. I think he will get the point after he receives a few thousand by November first. I would love to be proven wrong, but I don’t see it happening.
