Granted the sky isn't falling, but you have to admit this season looked really promising until Madieu Williams and Berrian's imjuries surfaced or is it resurfaced?? McKinnies suspension was known far in advance, just not released to the public. Chili's problem or our problem is the lack of OLine depth. Chase Johnson looked like a huge stay-puff marshmallow last night. Radovich is hurt and Marcus Johnson can't remember the snap count... Hicks is serviceable but will need as much help as Cook normally gets. If the Cowpokes try to sneak that stud LB T. George on their practice squad, pick him up! P.S. Start scouting for a LT without a criminal record and who can pass protect.

They should cut his fat overrated ass... He didn't learn the first time on the boat, now he's the one piece of the puzzle that is F'd to start the season... he didn't care about the Vikings or the Viking fans when he got all Mr. Tough guy... so why should any of us care about him. If Artis Hicks can get the job done... I say cut the fat P.O.S.!

He's overrated anyway!

What seperates McKinnie from any of the gang bangers that polute the streets of Minneapolis and St. Paul?? A few million bucks? Take the pay check away from him and he's nothing. He's probably got less money in the bank than I do... Probably blew all his cash money on rims and hats... They spinnin... they spinnin.

I hate guys like this... Hutchinson makes him so much better and that is money so much better spent... not to mention the obvious reason.

Can't argue that point. Let's just wait till a week before the season starts so the Vikings have to run a fire drill. The NFL brass should be embarrassed with the timing of this decision.
Hey 40, Im not defending McKinnie, cause like I said before, I believe something shady went on with him. But what does this say about Goodell, handing out a 4 game suspension before McKinnie has even gone to trial. It seems the Commish has the power to say "guilty as charged" And WHAT IF the charges dont all turn out as serious as they are now? Will Goodell say "Oops, sorry Vikings, my bad"

Are you sure the Bengals wouldn't fit in better here?
And to those of you crying about the unfairness and timing of this... shut up... the guy did the crime and he's gonna do the time... You people are the same ones that when you get pulled over for speeding your lame alibi is "what about those other speeders???"
McKinnie is a D/I/C/K and he's F'd the Vikings once again... a loser never changes his spots.

The way I understand it is that Goodell can dish out the punishment without waiting for the trial. The personal conduct policy is separate from his guilt, just being there fighting at 5:30 in the morning outside a strip club is sufficient for the NFL. Now if, like you say, the charges are reduced and he is found not guilty, I would have the union officials filing a grievance. Would that get the 4 games back? No, but he might be able to recoup his lost checks. I'm not sure if he can appeal the suspension or if that process has already run its course. If the appeal is still not yet filed but is filed expeditiously, will that affect his status for the first four games? I’m not sure.

As long as these players get paid multi-million dollar contracts their overall behavior will reflect it. No sense of gratitude. No clue as to how most people behave in the real world. No gratitude for having a dream life and not even knowing it. How many cars and homes and how much stuff will they accumulate before they realize that all adds up to emptiness without a relationship with the Living God? WaKE UP BRYANT!!

Okay, understood. Whats done is done. Hopefully this will straighten his dumb-a$$ out. And the back-ups will step up a notch.

How about a relationship with reality? which is the opposite of a relationship with this so called "living god"... there is no difference between worshiping "god" or the "dolla dolla bill ya'll"

gotta love that bible belt...

This will become just another excuse for why the QB play suffered during McKinnie's suspension.

i have to say i am kinda surprised at the judgment based on examples like those here, especially since he hasn't been found guilty yet. i have never been that impressed with mckinnie. he does well on the run, but his pass protection has never been very good. hicks seems like he did pretty well for us, i think we'll be alright.

Now the Vikings are totally screwed on the O-line,
as it appears Tim Mattran is the top backup and the injured Drew Radovich. This is what the Vikings deserve for not stockpiling more O-line depth in the draft. Now TGlass will be run over and torn to shreds by KGB, Freeney, Peppers and VBosch. Way to go Secret Squirrel, nice job fu**ing up the Offensive line depth positions
you moron, 7-9 here we come.

Ultimately the biggest losers in this situation is the Vikes. I mean, McKinnie will at least gain restitution on the pay for the four games he was suspended for if he is acquitted on all charges- especially the felony. Meanwhile, what is done will be done regardless for the Vikes after week 4.

Contrary to popular belief amongst some regular posters, every team, not just the Vikings and Bengals, have problem children when it comes to abiding by the law. It's a shame that The (singular) Vikings problem plays a vital position and occupies a nice chunk of the Vikes payroll.
