Worrell was originally brought in as a special teams guy. He was pressed into duty at safety because of injuries. If he recovers and can go back to focusing on special teams, the Dolphins will be vastly improved with all of the players they're bringing in for that area. And nothing wrong with a little competition at safety to find out who's the hungriest.

More depth to an area of need. So far, so good.

Probably they'll keep 5. Teams will do this if the 5th is a ST contributor, and Cameron definitely is.

This is totally IMHO, but I see Worrel as a parcells type guy, hardnosed, good size, plays through pain, plays ST, and cheap.

If he does go, I for one will pray he clears waivers (nobody with that much game experience would!) and we stash him on Practice Squad.

I'd have to add that this is QUALITY depth. Crocker is a legitimate nfl starting safety. We haven't had one of those in a while (outside of Bell who can't stay healthy, and Allen whom, IMHO will only prove that status this season).

Dump Cameron Worrel. This guy was great in allowing opposing receivers to get behind him, catch the ball, and score. They've signed enough guys to play special teams, so he isn't even needed there. He was horrible and once he's healthy, give him ax.

Certainly a lot better than being so depleted last year.

Instead of moving Travis Daniels to safety how about moving him off the team. Guy probably couldn't cover me one on one and I'm a slow white guy.

I think Travis Daniels is a reliable veteran corner.

All world? Nah...but he's been the most consistent player we've had in the defensive backfield for the last 2 years. Every DB gets burned, but as fans, certain memorable plays tend to confuse our abilities to make objective assesments.

Great Post! Depth was a major issue for this team last year. Sure, the Phins suffered major injuries, but there was a noticeable lack of confidence, and perhaps competence evident in many of the back-ups. T. Daniels was not one of those guys. I SAW some guys mail it in at the end of the year, and thankfully, the worst of those offenders are gone. The Tuna is building depth as his foundation. The superstar "pieces" aren't necessary until you're ready for a playoff run.

Great post yourself...your point that the superstars aren't necessary until on the verge of a playoff run is well made, This in my mind is why one of the longs makes the most sense if the fins are stuck with the number one overall.

Did they sign 11 special teams players? No. This post is incredibly shortsighted as Cameron is a very good ST player.

As far as his perfomance last year, he got better as time when on, played through a pretty serious injury for 4 games +, and hey...beggars can't be choosers. You might think you could've suited up at safety last year, but some of us other fans are probably glad Worrel was the guy instead.

I gotta say, like 2 weeks with that QB prospect article's board rotting, and all of the sudden we have three forums on 3 versions of the same story...

maybe our local media should split up the coverage duties and give us a little variety?

I'm not complaining, just requesting.
