As i have told you many times privately, it is more widespread than we realize. Before my shift change, my co-workers were of this mind-set. Truthfully i wish the media would focus more on the good players and members in our society than the dregs that HAPPEN to become famous. Our children are emulating these people.

Your assumptions are illogical. I make a statement about Vick playing football and you conclude that I kill dogs? That's just stupid. Nothing I've said can lead you to the conclusion. This doesn't even sound like you so just quit it. To answer your first question, I care about many things besides whether or not Vick plays football. Don't make assumptions without reason Barb.

I could conclude some things about you and dogs based on what you have said and say it "looks suspicious to me" but I haven't so don't do that with my statements either.
Not sure where you're coming from with this at all but if this is back to the old crap then there's nothing left for us to say.

It is amazing that to express yourself you can only attempt to belittle others. It only makes YOU look small, not us.

One more time: It's the Mike Vick FORUM, where the subject is Mike Vick.

Dowhat, if Jeffrey Dahmer were the most talented football player in the world I would not be able to watch him play without remembering what he did. Same with Dennis Rader the BTK killer. DMX would make my blood chill if I had to watch him do anything. I could go on and on with these criminals and how it would ruin any enjoyment I might have of watching any sports team these guys might play on.
I'm sure you're going to say that these guys aren't Michael Vick with his talent. But my point is....how can you possibly fully enjoy watching Vick play football again knowing full well what pain and agony he inflicted on those dogs? How can you enjoy watching him play the same as you did before without thinking of him bodyslamming a dog into the ground over and over again until death is a relief for the dog? How can you watch Vick dazzle the fans without thinking about a dog being beaten to death with a bat? Can you watch Vick take a drink of water without thinking about him holding a pit bulls head under water to drown it while the poor thing struggles desperately for several minutes to get away? And when Vick is making one of his sudden runs down the field will it remind you of a dog having a live electric wire stuck up its azz after being wet down then shaking violently as it dies from the shock? What about Vick on the field will prod your memory of the hanging of his dogs, or the starving them to death? Or do you not care? When Vick is in the middle of a play and being tackled by those big guys on the field will it remind you that he enjoyed watching dogs tear each other to bits in a dogfighting pit?
How can you possibly fully enjoy watching Vick play football again without remembering all these things Dowhat? I know I can't.
In the past I've enjoyed our online conversations/ exchanges of opinions. What you say here is NOT what you said in your original post. I think you have read enough of my posts to know that I don't condone killing dogs so that was a low blow for no reason.

Now to answer your questions - most times which I don't have a problem responding to - YES, I think we can separate his past bad acts WHICH HE HAS PAID FOR WITH TIME SERVED from his football activity.

I'm glad you wrote this because it helps me to get a better picture of where you are coming from...and by the way...Michael Jackson was never a pedophile as you posted.

You're so right. I actually worked with educated professionals who had no respect for animals at all. A Registered ER Nurse once told me she got tired of her little dog and drove it out in the country and just dropped it off. I was totally shocked that someone with her education and knowledge and in this day and age could actually treat an animal in that manner. I could just imagine that poor little dog in a panic chasing her car desperately trying to catch up then being left on the side of the road to fend for itself. That image will follow me for life.
I wish I could find the post where it said, "no you are right, I don't give a dam about the dogs. "

New York,
I agree with what you've said here and I have never said anything different. You are right - returning to the NFL is a priviledge and not a legal right and I'm not saying it is.

Where I differ from some of the posters here is that I believe that since MV has served his time that we as members of this society shouldn't get to pick and choose WHERE he works (NFL/Walmart/Construction) if he is qualified to do so. Most of the posters here don't want him to return to the NFL though it is his legal right to try.

I understand that people are still angry, but as it is with anything that pisses any of us off, we have to put it in perspective and move forward.

From my vantage point, part of the perspective is that MV did an awful thing and paid for it with a jail sentence; he should provide restitution for the care of the dogs that were harmed and are still alive though unfortunately the others cannot be brought back to life; if he's still good enough he should be allowed to try to the NFL or seek any other job he is qualified for.

Anyway, I'm sure that's not a popular opinion but there you have it.

IF you are talking about ME, you can give up the slanderous lies....I've never thought that, I don't think that, and I didn't say that.

In 2001, while Charleston area pit bull breeder David Ray Tant was testifying under immunity in front of a Virginia grand jury, Vick appeared to be launching his own Virginia-based dogfighting kennel.

The timeline is based in part on Vick's indictment Tuesday on charges related to illegal dogfighting and a batch of forgotten documents on file at the Charleston County Courthouse.

Tant emerged as a brutal local figure in 2004 when he was arrested and ultimately pleaded guilty to 41 criminal counts of dogfighting. He had grown to become one of the world's most successful breeders of ferocious pit bulls.

In 2001, Tant was called to be a grand jury witness during a federal probe of dogfighting centered in western Virginia.

The jurisdiction included the nearby town of Blacksburg, home of Vick's collegiate alma mater, Virginia Tech, where the future star was preparing himself for the NFL draft.

Around the same time, Vick bought property in Smithfield, Va., for what would become Bad Newz Kennels, and he and other defendants began buying pit bulls from various states, according to the indictment.

The site soon became the center of a dogfighting operation, said the indictment.

I think he is tied to Tant.

If what you are saying is true there would be no need for discussion, I do understand that Martha Stewart crime was not the same as Vick however the fact is they both committed crimes, served time for the crime they committed Martha Stewart was allowed to return to her career, do you feel that was wrong for her to be able to return to a position of notoriety even though she is a convicted felon.

I do agree with your comment however Vick did pay for the care of the dogs, how many times should he have to do that.

I have a question. If Tant got 40 yrs. for running a dog fighting operation, why are Vick and his cohorts only facing 6 yrs.? I realize that someone was injured on Tant's property but does that buy him 34 more years? This is a despicable practice. I hope that the laws get much tougher on all that participate in this horrible and depraved "sport".

She's not a big fan of introspection. There IS a post where she says that there is no MORAL, reason, can you believe that?; no MORAL reason not to reinstate Vick. She'll deny that she said that also. GIve it a few minutes.

OMG-Are you comparing what Stewart did as opposed to what Vick did which was brutalizing and mutiliating innocent and helpless animals to a torturous death? Please, please think about what you are saying. How can you possible compare tearing animals apart to Stewart's crime? She did not HURT anyone but herself and her image and/or reputation. What MV did was torture helpless animals to their death while he enjoyed hearing the screaming pains of those animals while they were dying? Can't you understand that? Doesn't that make sense to you? You are comparing the death of animals to a stock market incident. You should know better than that even if you are uneducated or whatever.

Daily Horoscope for November 30

Taurus

Today is potentially very romantic, as the Moon and Venus make love in your house of relationships. If you open up your heart, you'll be pleasantly surprised. The Bull is slow to fall in love, but tends to be very loyal and committed, which makes it important for you to choose your partners wisely. It may just be that the love of your life is already by your side.
