Vikings should send Saints a 'thank-you' note

That's what they say down here. It means, "that's all" or "finished." And the Vikings came out on top.

he's a bad coach, no doubt. how in the world do you kick one ball to reggie bush much less five? how do you kick three balls to him after the first touchdown? wow, that was terrible! frerotte overcoming to punt td's, absolutely no running game & still winning in the nfl's loudest stadium is truely remarkable.

Oh, and for gonzo, yes, it's just amazing the vikes didn't give up 17 rushing td's without ej hendershot

correction: two balls to him after first td. 5 total. amazing with our lack of lb's who can cover kicks that we had good coverage on the first two kicks to him.

Well, if you take away the 2 punt returns for touchdowns... yes, we gave up 100,000 yds of passing again, but our defense KEPT THEM OUT OF THE END ZONE. Ok??? We forced 4 TURNOVERS.

Our offense played like a-s-s. But give some damned credit to Winfeild and the D. They finally made plays and won the damn game for us.

And Klink should be be fired, for sure. That goes without saying.

However... despite sucking most of the game, Berrian finally had 110 some yds and a touchdown.

Shiancoe finally held on to the ball for a touchdown... HOLY S-H-I-T... 2 offensive tds???

Our D put the most pressure on Brees he's seen in a long time.

Thanks for still being downers and not giving any credit where it's due.

yeah, the ain'ts beat themselves, but our D certainly helped them out.

First off yes the offense was horrible till it counted which we haven't seen in awhile The calls finally went our way and they could have went either way...the missed face mask is just payback for all the shitty calls we got this year that yes...were in part that cost us a couple of wins...besides ourselves getting in the way so I am not even gonna talk about that as we were due.

I called it when I said that Drew hasn't seen a defense like ours this year and when he saw one close like it was Washington and they shut him down...I also said they yards would come but the TD's wouldn't be in unbundance and they weren't ...say what you want but the D but they came up big when it counted.

The funny thing about our coaches is they need to realize that Peterson is not the second coming after two years...the first year they didn't see him coming...well they see him coming now and the coaches have to realize that when he is getting stuffed like he was in the first half they need to go to the second option you stupid morons....ah we do have a bruiser for a back sitting on the pine...freakin use him and sit Peterson sometimes....screw his psyche...he is a second year player period....use Taylor....or freakin release him.

The special teams coach needs to be fired immediately as we are the laughing stock of the league in special teams play...there is no reason to keep him...let the players just play without a coach if you can't find one in the unemployment line.

Lastly we are going nowhere this year...even if we make the playoffs we will meet the better defenses that will dismantle this simpleton offensive plan as we have no QB period, plus either the QB misses passes and when he hits the receivers they then drop them so it's a no win situation....8 - 8 here we come.

WINFIELD is the man, Griffin still sux azz! I think that he single handedly gave up all of Breezes 300+ yrds at least he can play the run ok and hits like a train but boy when he has to cover someone its all over. You would think that getting burned by 10-15 yrds one every play would trigger something??? oh well... The rest of the D did a nice job, would have loved to see a sack. So what is it 15 million a sack?? Dang I wonder if the front office is looking for a bridge? hahaha jk I like Allen and hope to see him get on track. The O-line was horrible!!! Maybe we can get a punter and ball boy to take the right side of the line, the outcome would be the same.. although the rest of the line was not far behind... I am happy about the win but we won because of luck and a determined D. oh and, FIRE CHILLY!:)

Also, anybody that doesn't think that the QB switch was the right move...see the replays on the shots that Gus has taken so far. One a shot to the nads from a speared helmet and got up. Blood pouring from the hand in the endzone and comes back the next game. The direct shot to the body that sent him hard to the ground tonight...this guy is what ...37 years old? How old is Tarvaris again?

If there was ever a case for firing a coach after a victory, this would be it. He is the designer of THIS confused mess that goes on the field after we recieve kicks and punts. What little this offense did was on guts, luck and refs. On the last big gain, if the saints would have just laid off of BB the is a 50% chance he drops it. I have not seen a win like this since the 3pts by the offense on Tice's victory over the Giants. Mike Tice got canned after that year, hopefully Brad will get canned before the end. Bud Grant and Burns for the rest of the year and Mike Martz for 2009. I half expected him to pass on that last third down. Someone must have talked him out of it. What the Great TUNA said is true. A majority of coaches do not win games for their teams, but they do lose them. Tonight both coaches tried real hard to do that.(Their coach onside kick at that point and two passes before the kick?) The difference being is that our coach's offense has stunk for 2+ year and thier offense had problems holding on to the ball tonight. Hat's off to the D for the pressure and making the tunrovers and covering for the rookie Middle Linebacker. Hat's down to the D for not getting to the QB more when they blitzed and for still playing Griffin. While it is the first time the Vikes have score a TD of a FG attempt in regulation many old Viking Fans will remember the Bob Lee led Vikings in the 14-7 over the Rams in the play-offs with the Vikes doing the same thing. Stange game. Go Vikes. Fire Chilli.

guess the vikings should have fired the head coach after the rams game, too! I'm with you chilly shouldn't be a head coach. But that decision should come after the season is over. not with us tied with green bay for second & them still having to come to the dome. I wouldn't shed a tear if it happened, but i would be averse to throwing the season away by firing him now. Certainly it would make it hard to attract a tp tier head coach if zygi seems as flighty as us fans. make sense? zygi should want to be perceved similarly to pittsburg's owners; not the raiders.

Luck only Luck! It is about time... Chili tried to FUBAR this game but a couple purple guys wanted it bad enough... Good for them! My Grandma was doing sit ups tonight after the game, she is going to try out for special teams. The improvement will be a welcome change.

I think we need Ron Popeil to come in with a can of Spray on Hair to touch up Chili for his departure to the Denny Green Old Coaches Home for the Tired and Used Up. Then Zig Master "W" opens his purse and gets Cower to put on a purple suit and gets this team to play above it's potential. Sure would like to have a team to be proud of!!! OH yeah and Chili.... you phony bastard! You talk about discipline then let the felon MC K. start after what he did to the team.... Walk the walk coward! Keep walking...

very well stated...i will take the win...our d did a very good job...especially when we needed it and they kept us in the game...but boy was that ugly! it's very unlikely we will see many if any more games like this one...klink should still be fired...and my grandmother would provide better special teams coverage than that...as much as i liked the victory...it comes with a price...klink gets yet another reprieve! Chilly and his cliches would appreciate this one, "Its better to be lucky than good sometimes." I'm glad they won but the Vikes really didn't deserve this win. They are still poor in every phase of the game and thats coaching 100%. The special teams have been bad for years and couldn't cover a bed. What horrific kick coverage. The defense let Brees shred them for over 300 yards. The only one with a pulse on defense semed to be Winfield. Without him the game is lost. The field goal block was amazing. He couldn't do that again if he had 100 chances. The offense was outgained by 100 yards. Peterson doesn't look healthy to me and I think also needs to develop something he admits he doesn't have...patience. He needs to let things develop more. I'm wondering if he can even equal the 1300 yds of last season? Frerotte did a decent job again. I wish he had started the first two games and the Vikes might be 3-2 or possibly even 4-1. Detroit is next in a game sure to be blacked out. If the Vikes don't trounce them then there isn't much hope.

But they weren't smart, either. Can we not get a little less conservative, and a little less predictable with the play calling?
