I once saw a mattress flying through the air as it lifted off the top of a car ... interesting sight, fortunatly no one was hurt. A pet peeve of mine is trucks that still have large bits of gravel or rocks dropping off as the truck drives down the highway .. I have had to replace two windsheilds because of the huge cracks caused by such menaces. LOL I knew some guys who sat on a matress to keep it in the truck and they were lifted and landed on the highway. Lucky no one was hurt

eleanorigby wrote: <quoted text> Grace, was wondering if you caught my post about the kayak? You couldn't make it up! It was obviously an unsafe load as the winds were not that bad at the time of it coming off his roof, the thing headed straight for underneath our car! The cost will be met, and hopefully the driver has learnt to safeguard his load. I was all set to 'entertain' visitors this weekend, but they have called off coming due to the floods. Hope it isn't too bad just where you are. OMG! THAT was such an experience, and tho' quite unpleasant, could have come off a lot worse, El. So sorry to hear it indeed. I remember driving down south not too long ago, a very windy day, when without warning a child's 'bouncy castle' was lifted by the wind and landed in the middle of the road, luckily, my cousin was alert and braked very quickly - no damage done that day; but she did go in to the house and advise them of the danger, they were most grateful for the tip. ** It's a deluge of GREEN/WHITE/GOLD flag colours... here,'we' > Ireland ready to kick off the EURO matches tonight! with Croatia - may the best team win>> IRELAND!! LOL I WOULD SAY THAT, WOULDN'T I ... HA HA! It'll be exciting El, I'm sure you'll agree.

Have a lovely evening and a great weekend....Love... Good afternoon Lady El ... Am so glad you are out of harms way! Yes, I am glad I was able to rescue little Jax ... I have to lure him out from underneath the house, with my flipflops on, the leash behind my back, as he crawls out from underneath, I lasso him in the leash and make him come in the house ... I don't like to be in 100 degree weather and I don't want him to get older quicker because he is "weathered" ... animals get older quicker when they are "weathered" ... He apparently doesn't mind being out in the heat BUT I DO!!!!!!!!!! he'd just as soon stay out but I don't like it ... PoohBear has been sticking inside with me as he is getting older, now about 12 ... don't know how old he was when I rescued him maybe 1 or 2 ... and IDK how long I've had him but he's now acclimated to the A/C and he only goes out when he stands by the door for me to let him out or if I'm in bed he puts his two front paws on the side of the bed ... Jax, eh, he's a young 'un ... he's so sweet ... he'll come over for his hugging and pettin'... they say that it's good for lowering blood pressure ... I don't have high blood pressure, but I do believe that analogy ... well, enough of the jibber jabber ... do have a lovely evening ... that Clancy, what are we going to do with that little booger? lol ... sending all my Love ~ FC <3 ...

Well! No point in Dressing it up or even trying to lol.. The plain fact is .. last night, despite.. a sea of green, Irish flags waving, house painted with shamrocks ... funny hats etc, Ireland were thrashed by Croatia! 3 - nil!! I don't see much hope now as, we have to play SPAIN and ITALY and come up trumps, and these are very strong teams, but then we've all heard about 'the luck of the Irish' it sure is needed now. LOL. Waiting excitedly to see how GB fares. Good Day to all here.

Looked in earlier, had to dash to town, see very interesting conversations here. Good Morning Flower, Denny, Quincy and Good Afternoon Grace. GRACE......I watched the first half of the match, tremendous header from your player....great pity about the final outcome. You just never know your luck with Spain and/or Italy, Ireland have some great players. FLOWER....seems to me PoohBear (appealing name) has the right idea....far too hot to waste any energy outside. He would be happy with our temps I am sure, it is a scorching 56F presently, and raining on and off. DENNY.....there is always a freshly brewed cuppa here in the kitchen for you!...:) Glad to hear your wife is much better in herself. QUINCY.....we might be saying that about England who play tonight, our 'star' player is under suspension, but one man doesn't make a tea (or so they say) so we will wait and see. FRANKO......meant to say that FLOWER was asking about you and I am sure QUINCY too if my memory serves me well. Denny too...so you see......we all missed you! The car will be taken away tomorrow for repairs and a courtesy car left for our use. Still cannot get over how strange the incident was. England and Wales are on flood alert and the insurance companies will be inundated with claims, sad that many of those whose holiday caravans are ruined were not insured.

Good morning El. Something sure smells good in your kitchen. My friend Curly has a English Bull dog and he ate a teddy bear. He is at the docs having it removed. Pups will eat anything I guess :(

We have new neighbours, they are lovely, and have two gorgeous dogs, one is a Standard Poodle/Labrador cross, he is so friendly, and his companion is a female Rottie (Rottweiler) she is not very friendly but that is due to her past history, she will get used to me in time.

Went shopping early having been up since half past six this morning, good to get it out of the way but am so tired. I had some work to do in the garden, re-potting Hostas and so on, but it isn't fit to work outside.....it's either too hot or too cold, or too wet, so it will have to wait, lol Instead I am going to have a hot shower, throw on my lounging suit and settle down to watch the match....England v France, the heat is against them as they are playing in 90F which they are not used to. I would want a drink every few minutes, lol Clancy is on his best behaviour..I put him outside for being naughty, he hates being out, he is very fond of his bed, having been a street kittie very young, he is all of two and three quarters. Was wondering what you meant by 'weathered'? My guess is sort of conditioned to all weathers, am I right?
