Denny CranesPlace wrote: <quoted text>I have often been hiking in England and go from freezing to sweating in a matter of an hour:) 'Morning Denny...it is so funny you should say that, yesterday it was absolutely roasting in Buxton when we left, and for most of journey, still very hot when we arrived my SIL's house, and again when we left there. Approaching Wales, the temp dropped from 28 to 12 and I could see behind my Ray-Bans mist actually falling obscuring the mountains, reaching ground level until we were driving in what was virtually fog. It was unbelievable, my plan was to have an hour at the beach before getting back, best laid plans of mice and men! Gorgeous today though, too hot to walk on the Downs!

Flower-Child wrote: <quoted text> Hello Lady El ... I've been so busy ... I saw Mitch Saturday night and it was a no win that night ... but it was a win on Sunday afternoon but Mitch did not play that night and IDK why he did not play:(... They played against the Houston Astros which was inter-league play as the Texas Rangers are in the American League and the Astros are in the National league ... we went to the Minute Mail Park again on Monday and Tuesday night as the Astros hosted the Chicago Cubs ... we ditched the game tonight as I wanted to watch the 2 hour finale of American Idol ... My guy Phillip Phillips won and I was so happy for him ... He was a worker at a pawn shop in Georgia before his fame at AI ... It was a great 11th season for AI and I thoroughly enjoyed it ... The 2 hour finale was spectacular ... Steven Tyler and Aerosmith stole the show toward the end ... it was good and I had fun watching ... I've missed you and the friendlies around here but I've been having lots of fun ... hello to everyone here ... I'll be home on Friday ... I miss my pups but my live-in pup sitter says PoohBear and Jax are doing fine ... It's been in the mid 90s and she and her boyfriend have them staying inside and been putting ice in their water ... spoiled brats, lol ... hope you and yours are well as are the kittens ... have a nice day and take care ... miss you! Much Love, FC <3 ... Hello Flower and Good Morning to you.....I am glad you managed to find time to call in, as I missed seeing you when I checked in, just glad all is well and you are having such a good break, it will do you good and you deserve it. Mine was all too brief, I have had an offer from a very truswtworthy friend to stay in my house and look after the animals, I couldn't take advantage of her in retrosepct as I worked up to having this many, she would be overwhelmed, and is a good natured sort of person, very conscientious. As your sitter sounds, that speaks volumes that she should put ice in your pups water, that says it all. Where did I hear of putting charcoal in pets drinking water....it's alright it's just me thinking out loud, am wondering what the reason that would be for, must look that up. The cats are lolling about in the sun, some under the tree or chairs, I will be adding ice to their water dish on the patio, thanks for the tip. Hope Mitch is alright, not injured I hope, please let me know should you learn as to why. Enjoy the remaninder of your holiday my friend, stay safe. Much Love...,3

Regular road construction is bad enough without having to contend with the secret service.....which isn't so secret anyway. Must have cost the earth to provide security for all those visiting 'dignatories'.....who pays for that, the Chicago tax- payer? Glad it is all done and dusted anyway, hope some good comes of it all. Lost my internet connection earlier, this is not an afterthought Quincy. Hope you are having a great day..not too hot. Just going to have tea outside on our newly erected garden seat.

Wishing everyone a beautiful day, hot here already.. Hello Brigitte....nice to hear of the new kitties, four is just a nice number for mummy cat to rear. The kittens sound delightful, quite varied in colour, are the orange ones solid colour, or stripey? Very rare to have an orange female. The grey tabby sounds gorgeous, I love tabbies. I love them all anyway! Keep us posted please, hope mum is settled in feeding them, she must trust you 100% to allow you to touch her precious babies. I bred purebred cats some years ago, I studied genetics and nutrition, but am blowed if I can fathom what these babies daddy is! lol Have a nice afternoon, has been gorgeous here.

Hello to you too our beautiful friend.....:) Isn't it funny how we associate certain people with music or events, I would always think of you when listening to Paul for instance, Flower reminds me of the Blues and for some reason, country, dunno why, 60's Chic and Col Chick R & R.....Grace, Mozart. Military bands remind me of Sir Tally.... Flattered you kept me in your thoughts Hippi, and hope this finds you in excellent health and spirits.

I had that problem for months with my MSN and i finally fixed it by updating my browser...so...maybe, if you refused to update something or don't keep up with regulars updates...it does freeze some functions on the pc...makes me mad, cause, like or not, you have to do what they want...!

You should have my reply by now...it was just a slight glitch hopefully. Each time I tried to access the internet, got a message saying 'internet has stopped working' my heart sank! lol It is like being marooned on a desert island not having the internet. Those little orange kits are what I would have termed 'red spotted' when I bred them. They are 'carrying' spots, but those will probably disappear. They are going to be gorgeous kittens, I do hope you will send me more pics as they grow...nothing like cheek I know. Good luck in keeping one!

Good evening Lady El ... just a brief note to let you know my flight was uneventful ... my pups arrived at the airport to greet me as were my friends ... it was lovely to come home and I'm trying to get caught up on my tracker ... that'll be an all afternoon event, lol ... I'd rather be napping ... it's about 92 degrees and hot ... the a/c is set at 82 and the oscillating fan feels fantastic ... PoohBear is sticking by my side ... Jax would rather be outside "guarding" the home, lol ... have the stereo down low and have phone calls to return ... feel like just vegging out ... think that's what I'll do ... have a great evening and will catch up with you probably on the morrow ... Much Love, FC ...

Deer Whisperer wrote: <quoted text>Quinny dear ... did you make them stand up on hind legs and dance and twirl?
I probably would have tried :) "mean" like that I could be. Sometimes I would have the Lab sit, put a treat or food item on top of her muzzle near the nose, and bid her "stay". She would until I commanded "OK"; upon which, she would "flip" the item off her muzzle and catch it to chomp on. I would NOT make her "hold" forever, now mind you. Just a bit of entertainment, s'all. Alas Dear Deer whisperer while the older one knows commands and obeys them, I never trained her to tricks other than give paw for a treat. Now the beagle, the beagle is hopeless and believe she suffered from attention deficit disorder!

They got the kiss shot and hand to skee-daddle!! <3 It was ridiculous! Couples had weddings already planned and paid for and hotels & banquet halls cancelled left & right. I'm glad they're gone.

Just going to have tea outside on our newly erected garden seat. Yes, my guess would be the tax payers. Major streets were closed for over a week; parking bans lasted for over a week and local businesses lost business because they had to close. I used to really enjoy gardening but admit to being lazy about the last few years. The garden seat is a wonderful idea.
