I am here to say Hello and also comment on the issue. The boy or so called boy who wanted to wear a skirt I htink in my mind is on pills and a lot of them in fact. Even if that is his tradition he should know better not wear the. Schools have regualtuions and he or she should follow them.

If you knew Mike growing up in hasbrouck heights you'd understand why he wore shorts everyday... but you didn't grow up with him, and you don't know him.

I assure you there is no joke in his attempts to fight the school board. Students of HHHS are not allowed to where shorts during that time period, but, on the other hand, female students are allowed to wear skimpy dresses and look like whores when ever they feel like it.

Sure there is a skirt length minimum in the dress code, but the sluts that attend the school are brown nose-rs and get away with it.

Also let me tell you how strange HHHS dress code can get... about a year or two ago... they actually wanted to ban hooded sweatshirts from the school, a popular clothing amongst the students, for the main fact that they believed that anyone who wore hooded sweatshirts were a threat to the school.

Mike is not a homosexual in any way, shape, or form. He is just a student proving a point. Nothing will happen, and has not happened... actually, the other students enjoy his fight against the school board, its about time some one slapped the HH school board across the face, like they sis to HHHS students so many times. They suck. And Mike has become somewhat, another celebrity, to come from hasbrouck heights.

AND BESIDES, HE IS FOLLOWING THE RULES, there is nothing in the dress code that says the girls or GUYS cannot wear skirts

And Mike does not do any kind of drugs, and drink for that matter. There is a legite reason for him wearing shorts, and it wasnt until his senior that the school bothered him for wearing them.

He knows he will be the brunt of some jokes from his peers.Why shouldn't he have the right to wear his scottish heritage proudly? His Father supported him, in his decision."Good for you Dad" For allowing your Son to fight against injustice.He's not hurting anyone, with self expression, and he's trying to prove a point! Scottish people are known for being a little bit brave.Also more then a little bit stubborn. Wear your colors proud Laddie! He is not campaigning against anything that would upset people.Other then the right to dress in shorts. Freedom to express his proud heritage is outstanding!

Yeah! you said the right thing. And that is what is wrong with this country. Hey, johnny can wear a skirt if he wants to - how about on his free time. But must abide by the school dress code just like everyone else. And if he does not like that school and feels that he is not getting the education he needs, then go somewhere else. Others are there to learn, and not focus so much time that Johnny wasted on his fashion statement. I think Johnny did not get enough attention at home to cause so much attention to this matter. Where does it end? This will only the beginning of many dress code problems. Next will be a students demand to walk around in their underwear because the weather is too hot. The American Civil Liberties Union should explain to Johnny that there will be rules and regulations, and dress codes no matter where he goes.

Well, it looks like you and Johnny missed the reason for attending school. Perhaps you should evaluate the reason you decided to attend the school. And if you can not follow the rules, then you should go some where else. Everyone else has to follow the rules why should Johnny not follow the rules. Are you not going to school to get an education? And what a horrible statement to say that someone should slap the faces of the Board of education for implementing a dress code. Well, one day those words will come back and haunt you. Read the last sentence again,please. Yes,Schools sole purpose is to educate,make mistakes,grow,and become an individual.I guess this young women got her american values screwed up. And don't you ppl like to be comfortable at work? You didn't want to wear skirts all the time,back in the day,ladies. So,WTF?
