If she was, in fact, drunk, she should be charged as well as fired. This is one of those few professions where people need to be held to a higher standard.

The airline spokeswoman said they have flight attendants who "perform their duties at an extremely high level every day". Now that's funny.

Pilots and shuttle captains fly drunk, but you want to punish a woman that in nearly all states was still legally able to drive and who's duties consist of tending to whining passenger's whims? No wonder this country is in such bad shape.

Also, if airline employees even "think" you are intoxicated; smell like booze, etc. they will refuse to let you board a plane. Why should a flight attendant - even if she only had one drink - be allowed on board if paying passengers aren't?

Why should a flight attendant - even if she only had one drink - be allowed on board if paying passengers aren't? From another news source: Court records say a breath test found her blood alcohol level was .032 — lower than Kentucky's legal limit of .08 to operate a motor vehicle.

LOL! Working long hours getting ready for a major change...hired on at the City of SC and start in a few weeks. Gee, sorry I missed the wine booth, you would have hit the spot. I had quite a few different varieties of wine Saturday night but damn if I can remember the labels. Had something very expensive and then some Kangarilla from Costco. Something else in between too, heehee. Life is busy, recently moved and finally settled in. I seem to have missed most of the summer but I have a private balcony a block from the beach and I plan on taking advantage of it this weekend! Hope I see you around here or there soon..it's been a long time! Don't worry about the headband, there's plenty more where that came from! :)

No wonder this country is in such bad shape. The transgressions of the pilots do not excuse her. Moreover, the article I read described several behavioral issues that would have been enough to be a problem if she hadn't been drinking. I wonder, was she on some other mind altering drug? Or maybe she was just overtired? Regardless - pilot or flight attendent - showing up for work on an airplane under the influence - even at low levels - is unacceptable.
