The lies aren't working. He is not a Muslim, though his childhood teachings give him common ground and respect for others that are necessary to bring a responsible and honorable end to the war.

In this climate being black or female is seen as a liability and a ticket with both would have been too much. It is sad but true. The Democrats have had women running before but the only reason Palin has been added to the Republican ticket is to sway undecided female voters.
