I think far too much is spent on weddings. If you have thousands of dollars to spend on a wedding, why not put that towards investing in your future. Buy a home or pay off your vehicles. It will likely cause less financial stress on you later when you are trying to maintain a happy relationship then one day you have financed for years to come. Just my thoughts.

besides, unfortunately, most marriages today dont last long enough to bother spending that much money anyway..
