Aug 8, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: KSDK-TV Saint Louis

A four-day Xbox gaming marathon apparently was too much for one 15-year-old Ohio boy.

The mother should be looked at too, allowing your kid to do this is questionable parenting.

Not sure what she was (or not) doing for those three days...
Kids are great, but they're kids and even the smart ones can be as dumb as a sack of hammers sometimes.
It's up to parents to control situations which could affect their health or safety.
Not certain this happened here, maybe the article missed some critical facts..,
but it sure looks like mommy was on a three day stay-cation.

Woulda thought at 15 he'd knew how to get a glass of water.

Yes, but it is possible to get that into something regardless of age. He probably has some ADHD as well, as people with ADHD have quite an inconsistent focus. They can't pay attention unless it is within a narrow range of focus. One book called it a natural phenomenon, where some people were meant to be farmers (non-ADHD) and others were meant to be hunters (ADHD). The hunters get restless and bored much of the time and are quick to spring into action when necessary, but they can sit in a deer stand for 6 hours straight and not complain.

Gamblers are just as bad. Some are so convinced the next pull of the slot machine will be it, that they refuse to leave the spot. They mess their britches, pee in the coin cups or in the floor by the machines, and use adult diapers.

An Ohio woman has confiscated the Xbox of her 15-year-old son who was hospitalized for dehydration after spending at least four days in his bedroom playing the Modern Warfare 3 video game, WCMH TV reports.

Three days to late mom. CPS should look into this as well. Her negligence almost killed her kid. You can bet if it was a poor kid working mowing lawns to help his folks and got sick CPS would be all over this case.

Nah, at least she loved him enough to let him do what he wanted for a change rather than arrogantly act like she knew what was best as 90% of parents do. If he would have passed, at least he would have passed happy. This child patronization mentality is destroying the US as it has for many years.
