Kids are great, but they're kids and even the smart ones can be as dumb as a sack of hammers sometimes. It's up to parents to control situations which could affect their health or safety. Not certain this happened here, maybe the article missed some critical facts.., but it sure looks like mommy was on a three day stay-cation.

He probably has some ADHD as well, as people with ADHD have quite an inconsistent focus. They can't pay attention unless it is within a narrow range of focus. Three days to late mom. CPS should look into this as well. Her negligence almost killed her kid. You can bet if it was a poor kid working mowing lawns to help his folks and got sick CPS would be all over this case.
