What is wrong with our recent climate? I live in Northwestern Indiana.Last October we were shaken when a winter forecast was released, it said anyone who live near Chicago would regret it because it was going to be at least 2 blizzards and it would be extremely cold. We all prepared and braced ourselves for this sci-fi winter. Well it never happened because we never really had a real winter it was so mild trees and bushes started spouting their leaves in late December we did have a snow storm in January but the snow didn't stay on the ground very long it melted in a few days because the temperatures went above average and melted it away. There was a front page story in our local newspaper during February farmers in this area had AN EMERGENCY meeting about their farmlands because weeds were already being to grow. This past winter made history because of the mild weather and for the first time during my lifetime the trees sprouted leaves in March. Blossoms were on our fruit trees and I took pictures. Now it's summer and America is breaking records with the intense heat waves affecting millions. They say it was a stalled jet stream that caused last weeks prolonged heat wave and last winter they say a major Arctic jet stream was stalled in upper Canada an that caused a continuing flow of milder air from the southern hemisphere. What do you think is affecting the world climate? Some suggest changes in solar activity. What are your serious thoughts? We are in a serious drought now and the farm lands are in trouble.A well respected weatherman in Chicago said it would take an 19 inch rainfall to pull us out of our drought and he added a 19 inch rainfall is highly unlikely. It's something strange about all of this don't you think?
