"“It takes nature a long time, 50 to 100 years, to remove carbon dioxide molecules that we unnaturally add to the atmosphere,” Mote said."

It takes a lot longer than that for most removal processes once they have been 'saturated'.

The three primary removal processes are:
1: Ocean solution (near saturation already)
2: Plant growth (zero sum game for most time)
3: mineral sequestration ( magnesium silicates to clays) Takes a LONG time.

Expect the problem to exist at whatever level we let it peak at for at least a thousand years afterwards.

Sez the author: "The solution seems simple, but everyone would need to drastically change their habits."

Yet exactly what those "drastic" changes in habits would entail isn't mentioned. In fact, the needed changes are no more drastic than driving less, making buildings more energy efficient, and switching to less carbon-intensive generating sources - all of which has already begun.

Such a drastic burden!

Why rest when there's work to do!

Not good for you! When will you answer the old question which PM left school at age 15 like you did?

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Scorpio

Don't believe everything you see today and your memory could be playing tricks on you, too. You might remember things in a distorted or false way, through no fault of your own. You may also be reading too much into the situations that are going on around you, making it hard for you to know what's really happening. Try not to make any big decisions today because you simply aren't thinking straight.
