The Australian parliament has rejected government plans to introduce an ambitious carbon trading scheme to tackle global warming.

The measure was the centrepiece of the government's environment plans, and would have cut greenhouse gas emissions by 5% over the next 10 years.

The UN talks the talk, but is unable to walk the walk, that's why millions around the world are starving to death, dying from drinking bad water, AIDS etc.

We KNOW what the problem is. The entire, global scientific establishment is agreed on that. The need is to persuade more people to pay attention to them.

Your source is the bogus "Petition Project" organized by the energy industry through Sen. Inhofe and his main monkey Marc Morano. When checked, most of the "scientists" on the list turned out to be non-scientists, scientists in unrelated disciplines or scientists who were unaware they were on the list at all and immediately objected.

Not in favor of a cap and trade or a straight carbon tax. If it is a case of choosing the lesser of two evils, the straight tax will do less harm than a cap and trade scheme.

"Incalculable suffering" is expensive. No effective climate accord is possible without China and India, yet China and India will agree to cut emissions only if the West commits to large cuts in the very near term. That means carbon taxes in the West, because cap-and-trade is too easy to game.

However, the cost of the tax will be trivial compared to the cost of climate destruction. I just hope we become wise enough to see that in time.

Did you know that Arrhenius, the inventor of AGW theory, was big into the eugenics movement? We need real science, experimental tests and not wacko plans for never tried, never tested radically different climate change mitigation policy.
