"Dolly is moving toward the northeast at 17 mph, and forecasters expect it to continue moving in this direction for the next two days."

Ummm...it's moving NW, as Judge and Jury said above, if it was heading northeast, it would be coming towards florida.

Does anyone proof read this crap??

It's got a northward component of late. She is already further north than all of the computer model predictions, and there will be a slowly moving low pressure troft centered just north of Texas during the next 24 to 72hours.

Dolly will also be crossing very warm water with plenty of energy.

My prediction.. Landfalling somewhere near Austin, TX next thursday as a Cat-3 (maybe Cat 4 offshore, stomping the oil/NG patch).

The NHC has been conservative in their predictions of storms gaining strength so far this season. They are forecasting Dolly to remain a tropical storm all the way until landfall in Mexico or Texas. But a casual perusal of the satellite images seem to show a monster in the making. I think "Tim" is right, she will be a hurricane by landfall, but maybe not a Cat 3.

For the rest of the season, would all the people who post messages like "Run to Home Depot" or "Rush to Publix" please refrain from posting such trite comments. It ain't new, other morons have posted it a hundred times, and it ain't even funny any more. A career in stand up comedy is not in your future.
