My mother-in-law and a close family friend live in Seabrook. They are here. We do know there is no utilities and they are not letting residents return home yet. The area around Old Seabrook, which normally floods, has water but other areas do not have any flooding.

Went to Seabrook's website (http://www.ci.seabrook.tx.us ) and they have a number to call for information and will post updates on this site. Hopefully you will be able to get information this way.

My daughter did not evacuate, The area has no electricity, no phone access until recently, my daughter got through on her cell phone late yesterday.they had no water in their house at Taylor Lake,Lots of flooding and high water debris, downed trees in some areas, saw them on MSNBC and FOXNEWS...all businesses closed, some street simpassable, but, MOST IMPORTANT not a word of any true stranded folks or any personal injury. Kind of the usual hurricane aftermatth for people who live in the areas..no one allowed in except rescue/repair people but those who stayed are allowed to stay. But they are all self sufficient no stores etc.I was able to keep in touch with my daughter because I had been told you can TEXT MESSAGE even if phone access is not working...it is nothing like the scenes in Galveston because galveston is an island and took full hit of the hurricane and has gulf on one side and bay on the other.Relatively speaking they all seem ok in the area.

Neptune Subs on Hwy 146 remains standing with limited damage and intends to open within the next couple of days.

Areas east of 146 in Seabrook range from significant damage to total loss. The other side of the road north of NASA 1 has verying degrees of damage.

that area is pretty rough. no power, water in most houses. pic in blog pretty much dipicts what it is like. cell service is limited. wouldn't worry yet. we're tough texans and will make it through. they are just restricting people from getting back due to the amount of debris and lack of electricity, etc. we have business near there and can't get to it. school in area is out for "at least" a week. try texting.

We live in the Searidge addition off of Toddville. Does your EMT friend have any information on this subdivision. We have been unable to find out anything about the homes there.

Be careful if you're supposed to be saving money, because it's likely to fly through your fingers in no time at all today. You're open to all sorts of delicious impulses now, such as splashing out your hard- earned cash on little treats or big purchases. Indulgence is the key here, and you'll also want to push the boat out if you're going to a restaurant for a meal. You'll work your way through the menu, regardless of the cost.
