Global warming is all the fault of man. We have increased co2 in the atmosphere and temperatures have gone up. There is no more evidence necessary. President Obama (I still get the chills when I say that) should bring in Al Gore to be his climate and economics czar so he can fix it. He had the election stolen from him but he can still save the planet.

Honest Liberal, Please explain why high co2 and high temps are bad. Imagine living in Minnesota during winter and growing oranges instead of snow pile. Aren't you tired of trying to defend a point that has no definate proof of proving your point. Please go to http://www.drudgereport.com/ and read how we just went thru the 3rd coldest month on record. Did co2 just happen to decline during this month or could global warming just not have enough provable facts to bring it to a scientific conclusion?

Hurricane Ida and the first two weeks of November are more proof of global warming. We need to pass cap and trade now!

Quiet Atlantic hurricane season a boon for insurers Wed Oct 14, 2009 1:01pm EDT
By Jim Loney
MIAMI (Reuters)- Thanks to El Nino, the 2009 Atlantic hurricane season has been the quietest in more than a decade, offering a reprieve for residents in the danger zone and a chance for insurance firms to refill depleted coffers.
With the peak of the season -- late August to mid-October -- now behind, the Atlantic-Caribbean basin has seen just two hurricanes and a total of eight tropical storms.
El Nino, the Pacific warm-water phenomenon that can produce destructive weather in other parts of the world, played a big role in suppressing Atlantic cyclones this year, experts said.
If the full season, which runs from June through November, ended today, it would be the lowest number of storms since 1997. The last time an Atlantic season produced only two hurricanes was 1982.

Carbon dioxide is 38/1000ths of a percent of the earth's atmosphere. It has nothing to do with the earth's temperature.

CO2 has nothing to do with the earth's temperature the way the glass skin of a greenhouse has nothing to do with the temperature inside the greenhouse. Of course all heat here derives from insolation, but, the CO2 is a greenhouse gas, which means it traps the sun's heat, preventing that heat from dissipating back into space, making the earth warmer. There is a multiplying effect as well - melting permafrost releases trapped CO2 into the atmosphere, and melting ice reduces the earth's albedo, creating additional warming. Think about it - closing your windows in winter helps your furnace keep your house warm.

There is a lot of evidence that supports the theory of anthropogenic global warming. My only concern is that scientific illiterates like yourself will gain control of the debate.

The proof is simple. Man has put co2 into the atmosphere and the earth has warmed. Al Gore did the research and concluded that it is mans fault. Why can't you all understand this? jcf817 wrote: <quoted text> For the millionth time...I have never claimed to have proof. But its OK when scientific illiterates that are using the argument for political gain are in control of the debate? Just as long as they are towing the liberal line?
