I read where Gov. Henry is going to visit Pitcher.
To me, All that says is he is going there to RUBBER NECK, What can he do but get in the way of the rescue workers?.
Roads into Pitcher is closed to the public, that should also include him.

Roads into Pitcher is closed to the public, that should also include him. Uh, he can hopefully get some aid (money) from the Federal Gov. to help those unfortunate people out.

the tornado stared just a quarter mile from my home north of welch. The firemen were having a fundraiser and most of the town was there. they all left and then we got word that there was a tornado down at the vermeer dealer ship up by my house. i went driving around after it had passed through it was devestating . May God be with them all.

Please don't forget the Red Cross has already set up shop there and are still trucking in much needed supplies. There are a few other local churches doing the same.
If you have clothes, stuffed animals, monetary donations, prayers, even blood. Please get in touch with the appropriate agency and help out our neighbors in need.

You are also correct about all the roads being closed going into Picher. They were preparing for a search of the area along with protecting people from down power lines and etc. The media was even being staged in a certain area because of all the carnage. My heart and prayers go out to everyone effected by this horrible disaster.

Thank you for telling us about the Paul Thomas Funeral Home. I was wondering about them. My mom said they now live at Loma Linda, and have built another home (I think)in Miami. Paul and Wanda have always been a great strength. We have considered them to be our family funeral home as well.
I have also heard the family name "Ragsdale" had a death as a result of the tornado. I do not know how many, but I took it to be only one death. Keeping Picher in my prayers....

My heart goes out to all the people in Picher. I have never been in a tornado came close once and that was enough for me. I cannot even imagine what it was like for the residents.

My cousin passed in this tornado, as did his wife. I hope eveyone finds their family safe and sound.

I am very sorry for the people who lost loved ones. Or for you guys out there that have missing loved ones. I hope they turn up soon safe and sound. I also have friends and family up there. my family turned out but i dont know bout my friends yet. All we can do is keep praying. And praying. And praying. May God and the sprits of heaven be with every single one of u in this nightmare.
