Jindal did exactly the right thing. Regardless of how much damage Ida does, having a state of emergency in place is essental to preparedness.
Yeah ... this ought to be good. I wonder what utterly fake story he'll make up this time about personally saving somebody.

You know ... like the way he lied about his Katrina rescue.

http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/200...

This advance declaration of a state of emergency is nothing more than pre-planned theatrics and fear-mongering so the GOP can prop their own Mister Rogers as some kind of anticipatory hero.

If this is such a brilliant - but standard - tactic for Jindal, why didn't he declare in advance of last year's hurricanes, or the year before, or the year before.

This is just more cellophane wrapped sound-bite manufacturing, and the minnows are chomping at the bait on the hook.

And you're right about Bush having the class to go to Fort Hood. Obama is too busy being a whiney ass to be where he should be.
Sure ... by all means ... let's inconvenience and pressure the families and the rest of the community at Fort Hood right now, at the height of their grief, with the media circus and security sweeps and the traffic jams and the communications glut that accompanies a presidential visit.

That's exactly what the victims' families need right now, more cameras in their face, Secret Service agents screening them, and WHCA agents nagging them to sign security affadavits.

Besides, if Fort Hood is the haven-nest of Arabic terrorists that the drooling right is claiming it is, then clearly that's the last place that any president should go.

Unless, of course, you're wishing death on the president ...?

Great idea! That's how Bush did it. So ... goose and gander, right?

Tell you what ... you show us the federal budget documents from the Bush administration that directly show all the expenditures and budget items for the Iraq war, and then we'll begin discussing presidential budget games.

Show us where, in any of the Bush federal budgets for 2001 to 2009 that have specific cost entries and spending plans for military operations in Iraq included within the budget for that respective year.

Supplemental bills, emergency expenditures, and Pentagon contract documents don't count.

Show us where Bush INCLUDED THE COST OF THE WAR in any of his federal budgets.

If you're the audit laureat you seem to want to present yourself as, it should be a cakewalk for you to go into the GAO website and pull up those exact specific evidentiaries.

Or are you going to pull the old "I'm not gonna do your homework for you" routine?

I think you're simply a nut. If Bush hadn't gone down to check out the devastation and death (from Katrina) he would have been criticized big time. You liberals are all hypocrites. Face it!

Ever the gutless coward, you can't put up and you won't shut up.

Thanks for proving my point to be 100% true.

And how many people have to prove to you that I'm not Pat?

You assclowns just can't let a lie go once you have it all the way up your ass, can you?

Hey sh*tforbrains, Bush didn't "survey the damage" of Katrina until SIX DAYS LATER, and even then he never got out of Air Force One anywhere within 10 miles of the devastation.

The day OF Katrina, Bush was in Arizona having birthday cake with John McCain. The day AFTER Katrina, Bush was in California playing the gee-tar with country singer Mark Wills. This was, of course, AFTER lying his ass off about not knowing about the levee strength (as evidenced by the VIDEO OF BUSH BEING TOLD ABOUT IT TWO DAYS BEFORE KATRINA HIT).

Here's the exact timeline, nutbag. Look for yourself. But then keep lying and denying. Nobody expects anything else from you.

Gosh, what a surprise. Another clueless, brain-damaged, in-denial neo-con schmuck who ignores the actual question, ducks the facts, doesn't have the slightest piece of viable, relevant information, so they resort to third-grade taunts, a bunch of Hannity catch-phrases and teh ever-present "you couldn't be a Marine because you don't say the things that I think a Marine should say."

Don't you clowns EVER get any new material?

Another 8th grade post with run-on sentences and poor grammar! Maybe you should hone in on your writing skills. You're an embarrassment to topix.

Isn't this usually the point where you clowns reply with "how pathetic, jumping on spelling and grammar mistakes" when you haven't got a single leg to stand on when it come to the subject actually being discussed?

Wow. You clowns are hypocrites about *EVERYTHING*!

Try to stay on the subject, lemming. Your shouts of "OH LOOK! A SHINY OBJECT!!!!" only work on people with your level of intellect ... or lack thereof.

For a start, it will be an interesting challenge to negotiate your way through the hordes of shoppers without getting mown down by a runaway trolley, and you'll also enjoy seeing what's on offer.
